Not sure if this has been asked before but what are the best looking games graphic wise I could get to show off my TurboGrafx-16. Also I do have the PC engine converter, currently Dragon Saber and Final Soldier, among other like the first 2 bonk games and Dungeon Explorer and Splatterhouse. Thanks for your time.

So many amazing huey games.
Blazing Lazers, Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu, Cadash, OutRun, Ninja Spirit, Neutopia, god so any to list... I couldn't begin to scratch the surface.
..Then I throw in SF2 because they freak out its on a credit card lol
-
Street Fighter 2', Soldier Blade are the first ones that come to my mind.
-
best is kinda hard to define....if you say most impressive it would have to be SFII cause most of us couldn't believe the PCE was able to have such a arcade faithful port
-
Street Fighter II is technically impressive.
Splatterhouse, I like it because its very organic in appearance, large sprites, just nice.
Dead Moon has some nice graphics, some parallax as well.
There are lots of things to base this off of, even before you get to personal preferences....
Legendary Axe has some nice Sprite graphics and Legendary Axe II is equally as nice to look at but I like it because of the dark nature of its look.....
See, lots of things to think about.....

Should've said TG16 only to get a varied response.
SF2 wins hands down in this one.

Magical Chase!
...if you have some hundreds to spare. Air Zonk is a much less expensive alternative and just as fun to look at.

Dead Moon, Soldier Blade, Magical Chase, Coryoon, Bomberman '94, Street Fighter 2', Bonk 3, Air Zonk, Devil's Crush, and Legend of Hero Tonma are all filled with eye candy, or you can show off real 3D polys with Falcon and Gunboat (for a laugh).

Bonk's Revenge and Legendary Axe are both inexpensive games that look very good. SF2 has great graphics, but everyone has seen that game so I don't think there's any wow left. If you should it to someone, the best they can say is "wow, that looks almost as good as SNES/Genesis". Show then a good game that they've never seen before, and then they can appreciate what they're looking at because they don't have a frame of reference.

Those are two games that some non-Turbo fans, usually people who experienced the 16-bit generation bitd, think look like 8-bit or NES games. They're also games that there are versions of on NES. There are also Bonk games for SNES and Gameboy too.

Lots of great looking hueys out there...
Street Fighter 2 CE: One of the best home conversions of the arcade and one of the best games to show the TG16 could hold its own against its "16-bit" rivals.
Air Zonk/Coryoon: Big colorful sprites and backgrounds, lots of parallax scrolling and a ton of weapons/power-ups/effects filling the screen.
R-Type: It was an impressive near arcade perfect port back then and still impresses me today.
Bonk III: Bonk's Revenge and Bonk III have great graphics, but I've always loved the big Bonk effect in part III.
Parasol Stars: Super colorful eye candy.
Bomberman 94: Big leap forward in design and steady graphic progression from the original and 93.
Splatterhouse: It may be lacking some background detail from the arcade, but I've always liked the huge sprites and monster design, especially the last boss.
Soldier Blade: The best looking soldier game imo.
Lots of honorable mentions, but those are the ones that stick out for me.

In addition to what has been listed I have been impressed with the graphics in these games.
Aero Blasters
After Burner II
Altered Beast
Bloody Wolf
Double Dungeons
Neutopia
Populous (I prefer the CD though)
Power Drift
Shinobi
Thunderblade

I've always thought New Adventure Island looks fantastic. I also really enjoyed playing it. :D
If you care less about gameplay, Darkwing Duck features some cool effects and I've heard Night Creatures is a very pretty game.
-
Graphics-wise SFII' has no rival. Unfortunately on the (two button) Express its about as fun as when you were 8 and you didn't have any quarters to put in the machine so you just played with the joysticks when it was in attract mode.
So, aside from those, Air Zonk, Hanatakadaka!?, Bomberman 94, Devil's Crush/Alien Crush, all the Soldier games, you could make the case for Bonk 3, sorta.

Yeah New Adventure Island is worth mentioning. I particularly like the snow levels and think they look easy on the eyes. I'm a sucker for snow covered landscapes in video games. 8)
-
I agree, about NAI and also about snow.
-
I always thought Ninja Spirit was a beautiful game for the TG-16. Growing up, I had played the Ninja Gaiden games on NES, and Shinobi games on Sega, and Ninja Spirit just looked so much better to me, and the movement of the character was so fluid. Now that I actually have Street Fighter II, it really is impressive, but not having this game back then, I couldnt have used it to judge fairly.
-
....Bomberman 94....you could make the case for Bonk 3, sorta.
OH Yeah, Bomberman '94 has some nice graphics actually.
That end part there, Bonk 3, yeah the graphics are OK, if it wasn't for the pi$$ poor level design that is, it just makes the whole experience feel off to me. I prefer Revenge over both other PCE Bonk games....
-
I 2nd Ninja Spirit. I love how the background scrolls so smoothly especially on the first level. Not sure why some other Hu cards were choppy when doing so.
