Sorry for the noob question
Appreciate any help
-
No, totally different hardware.
-
so are all the games for PC-FX Jap or was it release in the US/Europe as well?
If you had a jap one would it play US games?
-
The PC-FX can't play Turbo games any more than the Saturn can play Genesis games.
And no, there was no US release... Japan only.
-
We can all dream though, right?
-
That would make for a hell of a mod chip!
EDIT:
Oops! Mod chip.
-
I still say it would be awesome if someone would make an expansion to the PCFX to make it backwards compatible. LOL
It would be revolutionary. I wish NEC had done it!!
-
It's obviously not playing the game, but some titles will show an error screen on a PC-FX akin to those shown for wrong system cards in a PCE.

If we're going to mod it, cut the top of the casing off so it's open like a record player. Beef up the motor then have another laser w/carriage sticking several inches out the other side.....
Now it plays Laseractive titles too!!

the LA mod.......LOL nice

I guess I should ask - since I recall hearing the PC-FX had very similar hardware to the PCE (So it wouldn't be as contrasting as a Genesis-to-Saturn after all), how theoretically possible would it be to emulate on it or to reverse-engineer a port?
I'd assume it'd be easier than porting Super Mario Bros. to the Genesis was...
