Hey, folks!
I'm enjoying these raffles everyone's doing lately, and I've got some more items to offer up. But my supply of extra Turbo-stuff is limited. I'm wondering: besides TG/PCE, what type of consoles are you all enjoying? What sort of giveaways would you like to see? NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy? I'd like to start a few raffles that many people can join, but if most of you don't have a particular system, that would limit participation.
I'm thinking of raffling some consoles, too. Not going to guarantee that right now, but I'm definitely thinking about it. I'm also thinking that having some contests (like what hoobs88 did a few weeks back) would be fun, too.
Any interest in a random box of odds and ends? What other types of video game related items would make for a fun raffle?

You could also do a "Pick Your Prize" raffle. Have several different items for raffle and allow the winner to pick what he/she would like as the prize. Looking at the what did you buy today thread over the past several month I've been here, I noticed that the members here collect items for all systems. Regardless of what you choose to raffle off, I'm sure you'll have several individuals in the least who will enter for it.

That's a good idea! I should'a done that with Bonk and something else, as so many people already owned it. This would keep people from having to sit one out.

the pick your prize raffle is a great idea!

I did a couple game raffles awhile back with some cheapy games like "Power golf"
Made it sorta fun by guessing the golf club i had selected (one guess per person) I emailed my answer to another member so there was no shenanigans......i remembered we went throw all the clubs and it was the last guess that got it.

Don't worry about it being non-NEC related as most of us here enjoy most all consoles.
....except the NUON. :P

Though I agree, it gets VERY little use compared to just about everything else I own except maybe CD-i lol

Ha ha I wrote that with specifically you in mind. :)

Yeah, I liked the themed contest idea, Sparky. Maybe like a "guess my score in Blazing Lazers -- whoever is closest will win a copy"-type thing. That could be fun.

anything game related. I just think its really awesome that you are doing these raffles.

My idea would be for people to offer more items up for sale instead of raffling everything off. Sorry to sound like a grump, but I've seen multiple items raffled off that I would have gladly paid for. Especially since I hardly ever see anything Turbo-related offered up for sale here anymore. I'm all for the f*ck eBay club, but I feel like I don't have much of a choice anymore.

I understand this one completely. I can't speak for everyone else, but my logic has been that my Turbo-related items aren't that great: they're mostly incomplete or are the more common and less-valuable titles. I figure, yeah, I could sell JJ & Jeff for $10 shipped, or I could have fun giving it away to a nice bunch of people.
I can't realistically raffle everything off, as the shipping costs add up over time and I want a few items left over for trades. I'm going to start a few raffles soon with non-Turbo stuff since I have tons of that, and then I can save a few Turbo items for a sale or trade thread.
But I agree with your point -- I also have seen a few items come up for raffle that had me saying "Hey!" at my laptop when I realized I couldn't just buy it outright. I relent though, when I remember how cool it is that someone will end up with the item for zero dollars.

Possibly, if you could find a taker :) I'm sure someone wants it!
On the other hand that would be like doing a Deep Blue raffle. Any time you have some free stuff you will find takers! It doesn't have to be turbob stuff, either, I was able to unload all of my XBOX games here to willing recipients :)

I would buy Deep Blue. Still don't have that one.

It's a cool shooter that gets a lot of undeserved hate. :)
