yeah I've wondered why there hasn't been a really prominent snes forum, it being such a popular console.
That's because its followers are, for the most of the cases, dumb like bread. So it's even difficult for them to bring off a good site, let a lone a good forum.

Over the years I've acquired most of my SNES stuff on www.gametz.com (http://www.gametz.com/). despite the general disdain for the SNES on this forum... I always liked the SNES way more than the Genesis and it is one of my more liked systems. Of course I like N64 and Gamecube too so maybe my opinion has no bread.

gametz used to be a lot more active and exciting. It's toned down some over the last few years but its still an excellent dedicated trading site. It sucks starting out since you'll have no feedback, so you may be asked to send first on deals, but if you just deal with people with multiple stars and who've been there for years, you'll be fine. I've been on there 11 years now? yeesh... getting old!

Sad thing is, I'm burnt out on the Snes, there is nothing particularly new and interesting IMHO and most if not all Japanese rpgs I wanted to play (Dragon Quest 5&6 comes into mind) have either been ported to other systems or already got a fan translation for it. Sure its a great system and all, but I think for me at least, emulation really killed it and I already got most of the old school snes rpgs that I have had since I was a kid. I find it amazing that games like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy 3, Earthbound (and a slew of others) go for such a high price on the bay it makes me glad that I'm hanging on to them even though I'll probably never fire up my snes any time soon.

Seems like there isn't much need for a dedicated SNES forum chat wise. Sites like this one and the Neo Geo forums, etc... cover the worth mentioning SNES titles and you can at least buy a few of them in the "Everything Else" sales threads. Same goes for all other consoles. Hell, in this thread alone a few great games have already been mentioned.
You would be surprised how many overlooked SNES games there are out there. One game I like to mention is Front Mission: Gun Hazard. I like it way more than Cybernator, Metal Warriors and even Blood Gear for PC Engine. E.V.O. is another neat Enix game that I enjoyed.
I really would like to play through English translations of Romancing Saga series, Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia and maybe Far East Eden Zero. I just don't like playing console RPGs on a computer, [-( . The SNES Retropak is looking mighty nice to me right now.

I was fortunate enough to have one of those early U.S Snes (got mine in August of 91) systems that could play super faimcom games, although we only tried it with the bomberman games. ^umm any SNES can play super famicom games. you just have to remove these plastic tabs where the cart goes. Also playing on a dreamcast or psp is still emulation.

gametz, is a great place to check out sales and trades! :) The forums are funny as hell too!! It's good to see some SFC/SNES love here, I was beginning to think I was the only SNERD around here. ;)

The SNES was definitely a great system! It had an incredible library of games! I've always enjoyed playing Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Street Fighter II: Turbo on it! 8)

I don't have much to go on forum-wise (It seems the most active forum for Super Nintendo stuff is the non-English snesfreaks.com community.)

Where I will talk about various new Satellaview ROM dumps that have come out recently. (Hopefully I won't need to go another 3 paragraphs to explain much details about the Satellaview.) Since the Satellaview is actually loaded with uncharted territory in terms of the Super Famicom, it's probably one of the few SFC-themed sites besides SNESCentral which actually has something kinda new going on. Although I'll admit, it's design could use a lot of work.
Hopefully you folks here might be interested.

This site looks promising. It needs some more forum activity, but it looks like a good place to frequent.
Its not huge, but it is community driven, with a growing number of active members who all contribute with reviews and articles. Check it out.
Edit: sorry, didnt notice the third page of this thread and now saw this site has been mentioned already. Anywho, worth a look.

NintendoAge is decent, and the SNES message board at GameFAQS (http://m.gamefaqs.com/boards/916396-snes) is all right too.
While I REALLY enjoy TG-16 and PC Engine, the SNES is my favorite system. I am actually only 6 common sports titles away from a cart-only complete set of NTSC SNES games released-to-retail-in-the-U.S. (This basically includes all games except for the Street Racer/Exertainment, the 2 competition carts, and the 3 M.A.C.S. cartridges.) It's a toss-up which system gets more love in my house.
