What is "CIBler"?
-
CIBler, CIB or any variation thereof means complete in the box.

Hmm, wasn't sure if it was something else. Well, it depends on which white Saturn variation it is. Remember that there was a really awesome white Christmas Saturn too. Which is it, just a plain Jane or a limited thingy? Sealed?

plain white saturn, CIBler, not SIBler
-
if its a model 1 let me know! (oval buttons)
-
I don't think they made white model 1s? not positive though.
-
model 1 japanese saturn is grey w/ blue highlights
-
damn!
-
lol.
Yeah, so far it looks like I am getting to keep this saturn, and I don't really want it.
I much rather prefer the derpy gray one.
Opey knows what I mean.
-
I just want then laser! lol but I think its different from model1 > model2
-
IMA CHARGIN MY LAZERRRRRRR
If current interested person do not takes it, you can maybe takes it.
-
opethian, some of the model 1 saturns use model 2 lasers, look on the laser assembly for either a 32 or 64 pin IC. most model 1's made in the later half of 96 use model 2 lasers. that being said, I have a bunch of junk saturns i may be able to hook you up.
Arkhan, good luck with the sale! I never really liked the white saturn until just this year when I realized just how sweet they look. if i had the cash I would pick this up.
-
If I didn't already have one I'd buy it.
And yeah, there are so many minuscule variations of Saturn I would't be surprised if you found the laser assembly from a Sega CD or Dreamcast in there. It seems like they changed something every month or so.
-
Its for a Hitatchi Saturn (model 1 buttons) I'll check on the IC pin count
-
another thing you can check is the ribbon cable to the laser assembly whether it has 20 or 21 pins.
-
the white ribbon cable going from the laser assembly to the board looks to have 20 pins?
-
Is the model 1 worth more? I may have had it, its the one with the oval buttons right? I traded it off for a U.S Duo (until the system quite literally died on me in less than a week), so if its worth more than $300 I really got ripped off.
-
I'd take the system as I needs a Japanese one. However, I have no idea what to offer for said system. I don't just wants the lasers though, I wants the whole units . . .
-

20 pin cable should most likely be 32pin IC, so an earlier model 1 board iirc, I'll see what I have...

$300? A Saturn? Ha! No. A Model 1 JP unit is about $40, a US one...about what it takes to ship it.
-
I think hes saying his DUO was worth $300 and he got ripped off trading a broken DUO for a working Saturn. Duo maybe worth 300 boxed and working. Not sure how you can put a value one something thats broken if you cant fix it :D

Exactly, but it really wasn't boxed lol, just shrink wrapped. Its no fun having two broken duos, 1 has a burnt hair smell, doesn't read cds and has static sound (caps probably) and the other one cd drive is non functional. I'll probably raffle one of them off if I win the ultimate freebie. ^^ At least I got a Duo -R that works fine though.. At any rate I wish I would have kept my Saturn.
-
lol, a duo of broken duos.
-
Whats CIBler mean? On the subject of Saturns I need to unpack mine and give it some play time, I haven't even tried the last 3 games I picked up at the swapmeet for it yet. >_< I need to find some good cheap games for it as is Astal is the only one I have I actually enjoy, Gex is ok but its not as fun as it was on the 3DO for some reason and Clockwork Knight is to easy and the other games I have are just meh. lol
-
lol might want to go to the first post and read from there.

Almost became a trio when the cat jumped on my duo-r last night. Thankfully he didn't damage the unit. That would have been a cat-astrophe!

If ever there's been a reason to fist a pussy, that'd be it.

Arkhan, I really would like this Saturn if you are selling it. I am serious. I likes the white Saturn . . .
-

Hmm, I'd take any working Japanese Saturn at this point. Still, I am awaiting yonder fair TE at the moment!
-
How about this model? My main gaming Saturn.
I mean it TELLS you "This is COOL" right on the lid. Who's to argue?

Well, I can't complain cause that means I have dibs on a grey Saturn then!

Someone needs to get a U.S. Saturn with the Netlink so I can do some gaming!
...I need to get a phone line, which would be a somewhat ridiculous cost, but it would be worth it. I always dreamed of playing Daytona Netlink over dial-up :)
-
I played a bit of Netlink back in the day. These days the only person I know with a land line is my mother and grandmother, and neither of them have Saturns.

laser is region free :D I just need working!

My parents have a land line, but it is for emergencies only, and you have to pay like $0.15 per call if you call locally. I imagine that it costs about $5.00 a minute to call long distance on it, or else I'd bring my system over there for Netlink gaming.
A little off topic, but does anyone else have a Netlink and some compatible games? Preferably someone that lives in the 716 area code :)
-
I have one and all netlink other than daytona, but im in Maine, should have unlimited long distance though...

Makes you wonder if we can do something like that with the Dreamcast...
-
There were no truly direct dial DC games that I know of, so you'd have to build a server. I suppose that's possible, some day, but by then land lines are going to be even harder to come by.

After the holidays, I'm going to Bomberman, Virtual On, and Sega Rally the shit outta you!
-
alright! I'll have to see if i can get it setup ok.
as for dreamcast, i recommend getting a usb modem and doing pc -> dc in a linux environment. Its actually a lot easier than it sounds and tutorials online to help.

Yeah, I tried that a few times. Like everything with Linux that is "easy" it ended up just being hours of frustration leading to nothing.
And like I said, unless its a direct dial game this doesn't help anyway since the game only knows how to contact a specific server, and that server went down years and years ago. I think there actually might be one or two direct dial DC games, but off the top of my head I don't know what they are. On the other hand all Netlink games are direct dial.

Haven't played PSO in years, just like Ultima Online, went on to bigger and better things. Weirdly enough, Ultima Online is still around lolz.
