goddamN! where were you like 2 weeks ago rofl.
Where in Ohio is this located?
If the price is right, maybe I can come just pick the thing up.
-
If I had the time to spare, with working 7 f@cking days a week, I'd be taking a day out for a road trip to Ohio myself for this!
-
itd be funny if he leaves near cleveland. id be like VOROM VROOOOOOM and gets me some moar OBEY
-
Man hope you scoop this up Arkhan! Depending on price, looks like a nice set. Wishing I had the boxed IFU :(
-
I'm in North Central Ohio, near Cedar Point. I'm not in an urgent hurry to sell this so I can be patient for the right offer when folks either have the time or $ available.
On a personal note, I bought all of this when I was a teenager from a Japanese video game store in California.
This is and always will be my favorite video game system of all time, because I was the only kid in the area to have anything like it. My friends were bumbling around with Sega & Nintendo while I showed them this 'Japanese system that played games the size of credit cards' and they all flipped out. When I also bought and attached the CDRom system (remember at the time there wasn't really anything like it on a console) half of the high school about had a heart attack.
I spent many a night with 4 other pals playing Motoroader, Soccer, Fire Pro Wrestling, Beach Volleyball and Power League until the sun came up. Playing RPG's was a b*#^h sometimes since everything was in Japanese, but it was fun nonetheless...
For the life of me I can't find my manuals to the IFU or CDRom or else it would be a collector's dream. Still it's a very nice working set considering I've had it around the past 21 years or so.
I'm getting old...
-
Thankfully, that is pretty close to my hood.
About an hour away or so!
So, hopefully my offer sticks!
Anything I don't end up keeping will be turned back around to the rest of you guys :)
I won't RoyVegas it either. The stuff I don't end up keeping will be sold or traded for fair amounts. Nothing stupid.
:) I will say that I don't need Final Zone 2 or Monster Lair, so if anyones interested in those, and I am who gets all these things, let me know.
-
Awesome set, Just got a briefcase unit from Keith Courage last week so good luck to whom ever picks it up.

i need IB for monsters lair. i can buy your copy then raffle off my cd only if you give me a good deal
-
I would love a white pad with turbo either boxed or unboxed if you don't need them all
-
In the Yo (Youngstown, Ohio) and have been looking for PC-Engine stuff for months now. Wish you would've been selling stuff like a month and a half ago. Just picked up a Duo-R on an eBay side deal, then sent it to Keith Courage to have it modded. If you're selling some of your stuff individually, I'm game for the Duotap, a controller, and a few games.
-
That's really damned nice right there.
-
Hey folks.
If any of you want individual items please email me or send a PM with an offer.
I promise I'm not going to drag this out for weeks and Arkhan has been good with communication, so I'm not going to leave him hanging. I'm going to leave this available until Wednesday or so.
E-mail me with any questions gobux@neo.rr.com
Thanks & take care.

Hey Scarlet glad you made it over!
If you still had those manuals teh lot wouldve been sold already!
If you ever do find em i hope youll try to track down the buyer of the lot.
One thing i'm curious about in the lot is that little technical manual for the CDROM2

Truth. Not sure where they are. If I do find them later in life I'll come back here to locate whoever I sold it to. I dug so deep in the old closets I was kicking up old Intellivision controller inserts. No luck.
As far as that manual, I think it was a PC Engine magazine insert from back in the day. I remember 2 PC Engine magazines I subscribed to. One of them had a cartoon gorilla (someone here should know what I'm talking about) and the insert was from that magazine.
I may have the bundle sold soon, but I don't think the person buying it is attached to that insert if you want to discuss it. If I make a final deal with a buyer I'll have to see what they think of course.
Thanks for letting me know this forum was back up.
-
FYI: I'm all set to pick this up tomorrow.
I will be shredding the insert, because I feel like it.
Just kidding. I'll probably keep it, but will scan it for everyone else to enjoy.
Then I will be playing Red Alert in English and Japanese simultaneously
-
Arkhan, hope youll share the price after everything is picked up and finalized, for community reference.
-
Not a problem!
-
**cash in pocket**
Later today fellas, this beastly hoard of stuff is mine to OBEY with.
Should I seriously film Red Alert and Led Arert being played simultaneously?
I own the English one, and here is the Japanese one now too.
-
I'd watch it. But I'm a sucker for just about any video posted on these forums. :P
-
last alert is one of the best games i've played on the system, maybe not on a technical level, but i had loads of fun playing it.
wish i had it, maybe it's sitting under my tree...
anyway, yeah, i'd watch it, i like looking at differences between regions
-
Got the goods, all in great shape!
The total cost was 300$ even.
Bikkuriman World is weird and kind of scary.
-
not too shabby, nice lot you picked up!
-
Yeah! so I hear you need a controller, I have about 349 of them now, so uh. yeah! Do you need one?
-
how is war of the dead? i've been meaning to try that one.
-

It's hard if you can't read Japanese, but it is a pretty sweet game. It's alot like Zelda II game play wise actually. The battles are side scroller action scenes where you shoot the living shit out of stuff.
-
Yeah! so I hear you need a controller, I have about 349 of them now, so uh. yeah! Do you need one?
Sure do, less yellowed the better but I won't be too picky about it.
-
Ill dig through and find a good one.
i guess I should mention, I have duplicates of some of these games now (oops), so if anyone wants stuff from the lot, I'm open to trading, etc. for the stuff. I'm basically price quoting based off Game Of Japan's prices.
so, shoot me a PM if you want anything.
-
Good to meet you Arkhan. Hope you enjoy, it's good to know someone your age appreciates the great games and systems from my 'old' era. It's a nice hobby to have, trust me I grew up as addicted as they come. Don't ever let anyone tell you different.
Yes I can confirm $300 and Arkhan was a great buyer communicated well and paid as agreed.
Hey Ragtime I just found my manuals for the IFU & CDRom, they were underneath a bunch of old Intellivision game boxes.
j/k

Bikkuriman World is weird and kind of scary.
It's like Inuyasha meets Mah Jong meets Twilight Zone meets stupidity.
War of the Dead about made me try to learn Japanese in hs. Frustrating because I'd wander around for hours and without knowing I'd trade in a bazooka for a cap gun.

Been there, done that.
The game is pretty fun though.

So, the friend whom I mainly picked this stuff up for (AKA: "dude! YEAH a pce + CD! i'm in! Pick it up ill pay you back") Looks like he might be flaking the hell out.
so... anyone possibly interested in this briefcase? I will be keeping the boxes/paperwork for myself to go with my own briefcase.
but it looks like the system, some of the controllers (I'll be keeping a few as spares), and most of the games are going to be up for grabs unless he stops dicking off.
As you know, I paid 300$ for the whole lot, so don't expect me RoyVegasing. I'll be pricing anything out of this lot based off of that price. I priced the games at roughly 100 bucks themselves. I'm keeping Darius, Fighting Street, Volleyball and Basketball.
I might keep Red Alert even though I have the US version.
note to self: My friends are dumbasses.

Incoming PM!

Arkhan I was going to suggest to mods to close this thread since the sale's over, but since you have some unfinished business due to your pal ducking out on you, I'll just leave it to you to take this thread on home. Cool?
Thanks for the feedback on the other forum. I'm selling my 3DO lot now if you know of a good forum to list that on, or know someone interested please let me know. Good luck and enjoy.
-
Yeah my friend is a moron.
On the bright side, I did set up the whole thing and played it for a few hours, so everything works.
I'll probably dismantle and clean the controllers and see if I can get the goony ones up and running again.
As for 3DO, I have no idea. I never got into that one.
-
I did a basic clean on the 'goony' 2 controllers and still couldn't get that I button to work. You may also get that second multitap to work as well with any luck.
-
Well, was there ever a better system to get stuck with multiples of? I think not.
-
I might keep Red Alert even though I have the US version.
Hell yes—keep it for the alternate versions of the songs with vocal trax! I call them Bowie's song and Momoko's song because I'm a simpleton. It's fun to compare the US vs JP vocals because they never grow old (for me, anyway).
The artwork in the manual is kinda nice, too. Makes you wish they put more effort into the game itself.
-

Haward Bowie and Momoco Ring from Final Zone II make guest appearances in Red Alert?
-

I'll see what kind of luck I have. :D
As for having multiples, yeah, its fun to have more than one, but I'd rather not just have one sitting there looking pretty on my shelf if someone else can use it immediately.

Will be sad to see such a nice condition matching serial set get broken up!!

I'm le dumb. Which serials match? I was actually going to keep this one and sell the other one I have that I got from HenryCSC since I like this one better.
Technically I have two different setups. ScarletFever's is IFU-30. HenryCSC's was IFU-30A. The only difference I spotted other than the power bricks, is that the briefcase lid is different.
I like it saying IFU-30 in big 1980s font more than the CD-ROMROM logo on it.
and I think the IFU color scheme is green for the regular and gray for the A.
They are both extremely badass though. I took it to work and showed it off. It earned me overlord status among all the gamertypes at work.

Arkhan, Scarlet sold you three matching sets:
IFU: one sticker under console unit, one sticker on box cover
CD-ROM2: one sticker under console unit, one sticker on box cover
PCE: one sticker under console unit, one sticker on box cover, one sticker on manual front cover.
-
Oh, do you mean keeping the boxes and selling the hardware?
-
Oh, do you mean keeping the boxes and selling the hardware?
Yeah, its pretty hard to find matching sets
-
Well, its not like I've split it up yet..
I actually have it all set up here, with the one I got from HenryCSC sitting unattached. :)
-
Yeah, I actually offered on the set (mainly for just the boxed CDRom2) but ended up backing out only because of the missing manuals. Even so, it's a great set, so I wouldn't split the hardware from the boxes myself. The CDRom2 prob needs a gear mod if it's gonna be playing Insanity soundtracks on repeat loop. :)

I think I'll be keeping this one and giving Bernie the one you sold me, lol.
so, no need to play Insanity soundtracks on loop in it :D

Same here

Oh yeah!!! A briefcase set-up thats been worked on by BlueBMW. Cant wait to get this bad boy on my shelf. :)

Pfsht, manuals. Who needs that crap!
I just like the boxes.

Ha unfortunately for me henry & ragtime did.
-
Oh yeah I back what rag-time is saying. Keep those units together with matching serials if you can help it.
Also if I ever find the manuals for the cd rom & IFU I'll contact you, however they are probably long gone.

Yeah, I am definitely going to keep the set. I made sure of it. BernieLindell is buying my other one I already had, and I will keep this one. I prefer the sort of tacky IFU-30 stencil text on the lid to this one more than the CD-ROM logo on the other one anyways. :)
Gotta figure out how to get it to keep save-games though. The backup ram is shot. No biggy.
-
jut swap out the bottom cases of anything that doesn't work to keep your serials matching
-
No! Lol.

the serials are on the bottom...
-
yeah, so just swap the internals of the working system with the ones from the non working.

that seems like it would cheapen the experience. Like putting a 57 chevy body on a Chevette.
-
perhaps, but the two systems are probably exactly the same other than the top briefcase cover. you could always check to see if the two boards are different revisions or not.
