^wow thats crazy. Also reading some of the comments. People are really stupid. Its sad that these people work in such poor conditions that suicide even is a thought.

WHEN THEY ALL JUMP, I WONDER IF THEY'LL FORM A RRoD WHEN THEY HIT THE GROUND.

Low pay and long hours in China? When did this happen?!?
I suppose they can always go back to farming and work a lot more than 60 hours per week for half the pay.

What's sad is that we bitch and complain when prices are too high, but we don't put any pressure on corporations to actually pay their workers a living wage.
It's pathetic that we can have heated debates over video games but we don't feel as motivated to even make a symbolic gesture of support for these workers (ie would it hurt to send a letter to Microsoft? You think it's lame, and it is (we should do far more), but even the most cynical douchebag will admit that Microsoft needs to see that WE, the consumers think it is f*cked-up).
Even a brief survey of labor history reveals that this is an old, old story.

that's not new.. it's Foxconn they also make electronic parts for Sony, Nintendo, Apple etc.. they are the worlds largest electronics manufacturer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxconn
they have had suicides going back to 2007 and everytime I hear about factory deaths I just think "it's foxconn" but hey... at least it makes the stuff we want to buy more affordable neh ??
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxconn_suicides
They have anti suicide nets around their premises...

They probably figure that Bill Gates, the oh so richest man in the world is going to give them all benifits. This was not new at all.
This discovery was from Apple assemble line employees
who did kill themsleves. What they do is, that they have them working ( like in the film Metropolis ) with no breaks at all, and they get paid shit.
It is not like before, it is insanity because the price of an Iphone, Ipad, or whatever is soooooo high ( while cheap ) they are getting the short end of the stick.
They are like us right now, I am telling you, they are not the same Chinese who watched people commit outdoor executions, they are the Chinese who use the same products we take for granted.
China using the internet is one of the most, biggest difference in the world. The internet help "equalize" the world in terms of knowledge.
...........................................
I remember when I did, busboy work. My eyes have wrinkles that will never go away, and I never had a chance to do anything else. This is the kind of crap they are dealing with..
I could imagine the factory being like in the 1900's. You can go insane in a place like that, in this kind of world.

Holy shit Regal you made a post that actually makes a lot of sense!
I totally agree and this is one more reason I play my Duo over all these other consoles. (except now BlueBMW, theSteve, and Chop now slave for our Duo's) I now will be paying more attention to where my products I buy are made. You know though, it's hard to buy things that are not made this way. Hell even in the United States there are places like this out in LA that are basically sweat shops and are selling the goods as "made in the USA". Places like GAP, Old Navy, Ann Taylor and quite a few other clothing manufacturers also have crazy work conditions such as Foxconn.

those anti suicide nets dont look that useful
I mean, land headfirst on that bar and WHAM, you are done
It's like a mini-game!
