Title: How rare is Sorcerian?
Post by: MotherGunner on January 19, 2012, 07:45:52 AM
Can't seem to find the PC-Engine version and it seems like a game I would enjoy.

Not many of 'em up for sale on eBay (just a BIN for $65), but it doesn't look like it's pricey when it does show up: $14.50 shipped (http://www.ebay.com/itm/PC-Engine-SCD-SORCERIAN-Import-JAPAN-Grafx-Video-game-pe-/360420188235?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53eab7a04b) from hit-japan.

It's not rare and it is not expensive either.

sorcerian is an overly popular game in Japan.  It's on everything.  Its like an Ys game.

Yea the music is freaking awesome.  Oddly enough Ark I found the music to that by listening to your tube videos of the Insanity soundtrack (which is very good as well).  I may hit you up for one later on.  =)

just been listening to the sorcerian soundtrack, and Arkhan's Insanity soundtrack X too. Awesome music! Been thinking of picking this game up as well, I guess the Megadrive version is supposed to be pretty good too.

Oh man, seriously?  I just noticed that game a day ago.  Again, I am not too educated on pce CD games.  Just a few here and there but this one called my attention.

Each variation of Sorceran is differnt. The PCE is basically everything that was on the NEC series, if I am mistaking. The Mega Drive also got it's own speciality.

The PCE version seems be the only one that uses Western looking characters. I guess they decided being a DAD based game, they should standardly use westerner character for this release.

It really depends, on what kind of fan you are on the subject of Falcom.

Here is something intresting to know, the save file of Sorceran seems to interviene with another game.

I listen to the music on the PCE, when I am at my drawing desk, and when I sleep. Sorceran is what JRPG ( a.c.t. ( action games ) ) are made out of, if your a real Otaku then you should also like the comic book series based of RPG games, which nicely goes along with this music.

I bought Nectartarsauce's Sorcerian (I never got the PCE one yet! NOW I DO! =3).  It's not that rare though. So, don't worry.

The music is pretty dope.  It's also my favorite of the DS games.  DSIV (legacy of teh wizard!) is my second flavorite.

The PC-88 soundtrack is pretty legendary.  I listen to it at work alot.  Same with Romancia.  I love the Romancia soundtrack.

glad people like the Insanity soundtrack :)

You did a good job with it.  At first it sounded "abrubt" if you know what I mean but then the melody kicks in so it really grows on you.

This video of Sorcerian here is what got me interested.  Thanks to Paul for putting this together.

Which game does it intervene with?  (not following)

Yea meaning the intro to the song melody, but like I said then the full melody kicks in.  Perhaps I'm using the wrong term.  This was the video.

Oh my bad, in the comments you said it was psg pulled from the game.  Do you have any tube videos showcasing the music from the soundtrack you are selling?

Pauls video on pcengine.co.uk has one of the songs

The music in that video *is* PSG.  I redid Mr. Roboto on the PCE to show off that chiptunes in Insanity were working :)
