I'm a IT Tech for Pendleton Grain Growers here in Eastern Oregon. Got lots of freezing rain so I get to work remotely from home. ^^

Working at home sucks, your family is allways on your case with money, and keeps annoying you when you do not need them the most.
What do you do as an "IT" person? Do you pretend to work or actually do something important. I see "IT" who keeps making excuses all the time, and lets the next person fixes the problem.

A little bit of everything, today primarily support, and training. I build pcs (built 65 last year for the company), do the wiring, setup IP phones, printers, network administration, basically a jack of all trades for IT work. You can't really pretend to be working if you and 1 other person are responsible for about 150 desktops not counting laptops, smart phones, servers, printers and now tablets ugh. Today was slow due to weather (freezing rain) but usually I'm running around trying to do our projects and support at the same time. I really wish we had 1 extra person for the support crap. ^^

We had a similar freezing rain last night here in NJ. I want to go to a diner in 2-3 hours for breakfast, but the roads may not be in good shape.
Damn!
