Title: Current Game Generation Multiplayer?!?
Post by: alexsduo on February 06, 2012, 04:49:36 PM
Hey,
I tried to see if there was a similar thread, but I could not find one, although maybe there is..
Anyway, I was wondering if y'all are playing current generation multiplayer games? Obviously, not as obey, or anything, but it is still nice to play games via the "internet" and so on....
I have been playing:
Wii: Mariokart
PS3: MW3
xboxy: no live, so I do not even know how it works....
3ds: street fighter, shit sucks on multiplayer at my house...
PS2: Battle Front Star Wars (still online!)
Dreamcast: not so much, but I think there are 3 games with servers..
OK, anyone else play?

I'm mostly a pc gamer for modern stuff. The only multiplayer i do is battlefield 2 with the AIX mod. I used to do guild wars and unreal tournament 2004. The cheating in UT 2004 got so bad it was not worth it. Guild wars started to suck when anyone with a credit card could buy way better stuff that you. We just got an Xbox 360, i might reconsider with some of the racing games they have.

I like racingz!
I stopped consoling, a while ago, because I was a hater... And it was always a bitch, but maybe not.
I played a bunch of the Counterstrike in college, and Unreal tournament, so amazing to have like 20 people on a floor kicking ass against legions of other a$$holes... mmmm
war rock is a free game on the net, very much like counterstrike/unreal, I love that shit too!

Oh shit son, how could I forget worms, worms armageddon, and worms whatever the else.. I bought it today 4 disc, for $1 at half price books, yeah!
BTW, does anyone else see the "Sexy arab girls" banner under this box, and Maxfilm spray lube on top? Is the internetz trying to tell me something?

Me too!
I found most of the worms games for ps2/xbox/wii/gamecube, and they are aight, but not John Blazin. The wii game, space oddity, I think, has the most frustrating controls. There is some newer wii, fire island or something, but I have not tried it yet.

Oh, you mean ONLINE multiplayer. SFIII and KOF XIII, both for PS3. That's about it.

I haven't really played any console stuff online since the Dreamcast days. I do play a fair amount of multiplayer stuff on the PC though. Lots of Left 4 Dead 2, some Dawn of War 2 Last Man Standing mode, and I just downloaded the F2P Star Trek last night.

Xbox 360: protect me knight. You NEED this game. Trust me on this.
edit: didn't realize you were talking about online multiplayer. My statement is still true, however.

Like soembody mentioned none, too much to do. I sometimes, sometimes go look at Kalleria. That is about it.
GCN - you need to hack it, otherwise move to Japan PSO People have apparently created their own severs, that can link with the Dreamcast, X-box, Blue-Burst, and GCN versions of PSO. They all can run online.
Dreamcast games all can run online but is like the GCN setup.
X-box same thing like GCN.

I play MW3 on the PS3. Thats about it for console games online.
I still play Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and Civilization 4/5 multiplayer with my dad and some of his friends...
I used to get LAN parties together for some Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, Quake 3 urban terror and others... i miss LAN parties... damn internet killed the LAN party :(

Sorry, I meant online multiplayer,.... I think it is more fun, I was playing mw3 with my friend for hours, talking on the phone, and it was great... It is a bit harder to see people, but playing internetz games onlinez is kind of like human interaction.
BlueBMW
I am supernintendoze on the psn, I would like to play together...(MW3)

On 360 I occasionally play BF3, R6 Vegas 1 & 2 and Forza 3. Haven't played 4 very much yet. On PS3? Have like...2 games with online multiplayer, which I'm not playing online, obvously :p

I used to play Halo 3, Reach, and CoD MW2 & Black Ops, but I quit because people online are dicks and WAY better at those games than I. -.-

I used to throw very small lan parties in my tiny place. we would have 5 people in the kitchen with just enough room between us to stand. My wife used to play online with us when we played ut2004. A friend of mine a few towns over would be the server and about six of us would play every friday night. Everything was going well until my wife started kicking thier asses. They had no idea they were up against a girl, until i told them. Half of them quite when they found out LOL.

I did not care for UT3 as much. Dont get me wrong, the graphics are great, and it plays well. If you already own ut2004 its really not much of an improvement. The mods for ut2004 are better in my opinion as well. I really like Ballistic weapons 2.0. If you dont already have ut2004, then hell it rocks :)

Well, I think I enjoyed it a lot better on pc with mouse and kb, but for a ps3 game, it is pretty sweet. And it is like 7 bucks, and has online multiplayer, definitely, a gem..

Nothing wrong with that, and the mods available are very good. I dont see how anyone can play these type of shooters without a mouse and keyboard. but thats a whole different contorversy :)

Don't forget there's those Frag...fx(?) controllers for the PS3. I haven't tried them myself but maybe they can make things a little easier to control.

I have no idea. When microsoft released halo on the pc the plan was for the xbox players and the pc players to hash it out. The keyboard and mouse users dusted the gamepad users horribly. Since then microsoft wont allow cross platform gaming even though it was originally the plan.

Dreamcast. when they released Unreal tournament and quake 3 on the dreamcast you could play against pc players and with a keyboard and mouse. Dreamcast players with the keyboard and mouse were everybit as good as thier pc counterparts. Well assuming you had the dreamcast broadband adapter.

I was worried that all the other kart racers were going to suck. I will definitely check out Sonic and Sega All Stars now!
For reals.
If you got it for the wii i'd play ya but i may get it again for the PS3 as well.

I just went to my friends place and we played Ratchet and Clank All 4 One for 5 hours. Ratchet and Clank is one of the best games of the current generation, I recommend it (especially a Crack in Time) to anyone who hasn't played.

Yea, i played Unreal tournament breifly online with the dreamcast. The problem is there are so many mods available for the pc version of the game, that finding a modless game on the dreamcast was a real challenge.
