Wha?  These really go for that much?  I'm glad I got mine back in the day - for $25 I think.  I bet someone on these forums (the geniuses behind the AbCard?) could build the same thing for a fraction of that.

Not trying to bust your balls, no pun intended.  Your asking price seems high to me, but what do I know? :P

There is a normal one here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pc-Engine-RARE-Games-converter-turbo-grafx-16-adapter-/360432308365?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item53eb70908d for less, but I don't know the significance of the extra wire.

You can get a diving board from 16-bit (hardly a bargain seller) for $150 shipped.  I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you want eBay prices, go to eBay.

yeah, I been trying to get a PCengine converter for a few months now. They are all ridiculously priced.

Good thing I found out I can just get the DUO-R for the same price and call it a day. Oh, and it plays CD!

I guess these converters are so overpriced because of the collectors value? idk...I mean whats the point if you can buy a PCE, Coregrafx, DUO etc etc. for much cheaper than the converter.

If we could find the card sockets, probably.
No, I'm not chopping up pci connectors to do it.

But what's the point? A chopsado is cheaper and easy to use.

The Green Diving Board only works with a Turbob Express or Turbob 16. It will work on a Turbob Duo if the extra wire is soldered on.

I had one of these converters... gave it to Windy for free if I remember right....  i have seen them sell at the highest $175 but that seems ludacris to me.  Collectibility wise... i suppose they might be worth it.

Bust3ds a trustworthy seller for anyone thinking of dealing.with him.

Id like to get some more history on this type of converter, who put it together?  i know the kisado and the guy involved with that, but wondered where these came from?

I got mine from TZD.  I remember when I ordered it I didn't specify what system it was for and when it arrived it didn't work. (I was using a Duo back then)  I had to send it back and they added the additional wire and sent it back to me.  In the catalog I scanned not long ago it's listed for $25 and I'm guessing I purchased mine about that time.  Must have been around 1994-ish.

These are the converters that were given away for free with import games back in the day by all sorts of stores. There might be more than one manufacturer of the same exact thing, or maybe just a couple of really similar products. I'm pretty sure they are of Asian origin. Maybe it's Barney Mk II since Barney won't fit in a Duo without hacking away a ton of plastic.

This thing is known as the "diving board" for a reason. Your HuCard will stick a mile out of the system. Not bad for a freebie, especially when a PC Engine was $200+ and nobody had yet figured out how to do mods, but massievly pointless these days.

It's not good. It's not official. It has zero charisma. It sucks. I wouldn't pay shipping on the thing. Take it to eBay and roll in the dough.

I have that one as well. Got it from TZD when made available. Mine seems to leave marks on my HuCards though. As a result I don't use it.

Marks? really?  sorry about that. As I tell before mine's works great. Run the games without problems...or maybe a little loose of color I seem to remember?
Since I have a TurboDuo, don't use the converter

but it is kinda messed up that you were selling it for cheaper somewhere else and came here to sell it for more than twice the price you had there.

I should ignore you just for that.

I picked up a Purple Barney for $25 and a Kisado for...  $60?

Didn't realize the Diving Board was the most wanted piece of plastic to ever grace this Earth.  Go figure...
