Pyramid Plunder and Atlantean are a given. If I like the demo of the others enough, might consider a purchase of a couple extra cards.

You give no option to change our votes. I just changed my mind on my answer! Ack!

Im buying Pyramid Plunder on Disc, given. Atlantean on Card, AWESOME, buying it. NOW, as for other titles.... again, Put Jungle Hunt on a card, and I am going to buy it.

Skate or Die RAMP would make a great demo.

Any other titles that have been discussed (which I think is only Joust) I wouldn't buy stand alone as I don't like Joust. But, put Joust on a Card/Disc with a couple other titles I would buy it (which includes throwing in Skate of Die Ramp....).

Well, it  looks like my feelings on the matter are about what I expected.  I'll let the poll run a few more days and see where it caps off at.

Well, expect to see a playable demo of Pyramid Plunder, shortly after these cards come out.  The cards will probably be on sale next week.  I'm making the cases this weekend.

I think the idea of having a brand new card based game release is more exciting to people than the actual game thats on it :P I voted all of the above.

This venture is already a failure Arkhan. Between the two Retrocade future threads you've given away $2500 worth of votes.

Ok, since all the games in the Retrocade are going to stand alone, where does that leave the Skate or Die ramp, & Insanity Deatchmatch?  I assume that means they'll be shoehorned with as bonuses with other games.  However, atleast in regards to the skate ramp.  I'd flip for you to have an adventure mode in the same vein as Skate or Die 2.....though, with tightened controls!  I love that game, despite some wonkiness, & how awesome would it be to do something similar?  It doesn't have to be a long epic quest, but anything like Skate or Die 2's adventure, or maybe even a mix of the adventure of Skate or Die 2, & the contests of Skate or Die 1.

Do it Arky!!!!

It leaves them as "eventually", and likely for free or some shit.

I could probably handle drawing 360 degree animation, I've done it in some of our games already to lesser degrees.

The problem is how many frames are involved to make the moves look cool

along with how many moves there are in general.
Title: Re: Retrocade Future: Part 2
Post by: ParanoiaDragon on August 14, 2012, 05:43:05 PM
You were going to animate it?!?  That'd be even cooler!!

Seriously though, K has done some great animation so far.  Sometimes, I can't even tell the difference between 1 frame & the other, until it's in motion!

Also, another(but not as) cool idea, would be to make a California Games clone to include it in.  But if you did, I would have to request that the BMX part is based on the Atari 2600 version, as that version is actually fun!  I've never cared for the usual BMX racing we got in most versions of California Games, but especially compared to the 2600 version.  IF you did that though, it'd probably be better to make the screen scroll, rather then do it screen by screen like Zelda.

It is more likely that, after being translated to Japanese and then back to English, that you will be eaten by a Guru.

Compilation Hu-Card with Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy would likely be the best game on the system.

It's so full of secondary animation is "sickening" in the best sense of that word. Did you see the video for Mercenary Kings?

Anyway, back to insanity. I bet you some kick ass animations can be done since it's not crazy busy and stuff. Let me at it! wait, already on it, let me give you some tiles and sprites. lol

A "skin" pack of sorts. New sprites for the main character and enemies as well as some new tiles for the stages. Using that "Mecha Bazzy" like character as a start point.

SAMPLES MAN.  SAMPLES.

It might be funny to release a little graphic-swapped demo-thing for fun.  Insanity is something I might revisit one day and do shit to.

Oh man, I'm not expecting you to either. This oppurtunity helps me get into a dead line mode and get some pixel art created. I've been in concept mode with other stuff. Thanks for the chance

Edit: Am I constrained by the current 16x16 sprite sizes or can I go 32x32? What about the tiles, can I do 16x8/24x16? I think I can get a good amount of detail at the size.

16x16.  Im not redoing the maps or the sprites/code lol.

32x32 would be too damn big anyway.   The maps are single screen!

So if you go about releasing retrocade as single "volumes", individual games so to speak, you gonna put a volume number on the card/cd and case to give people an incentive to obtain them all? I think it would be a good ideas since they were (still will?) to be part of a compilation on one disc.

Just something I thought about while looking over my PCE games and seen how many of them have the volume numbers.

Yeah.  They will be numbered and shit.

And they will be done out of order, and incomplete, so people in 40 years will be confused.
