Valis Fantasm Soldier cellular game on Vodafone (http://www.bandai-net.com/corporation/release/release.php?id=332). Telenet Japan developed / ported the first installment of Valis to a celluar platform (Vodafone, using Bandai Networks). That's my guess, anyway, I have always been confused with cellular gaming (Vodafone is a platform, correct? Telenet and Bandai are content providers? Or is Telenet the developer and Bandai is the publisher / distributor?) Confusing.

Awesome. On the online TV series RetroCore (http://www.segagagadomain.com/RetroCorepage-main.htm) (great show based on hardcore gaming), Yakumo reviewed the cellular version not so many episodes ago.

Maybe the greatest news here is that Telenet is still alive ;)
As far as I can tell, this port is based on the original PC-88 version and not the PCE remake. No voiceover, no Sumi Shimamoto, no Yūko Mita T_T

Yeah, I scoured the Telenet website... but I didn't see any other items that piqued my interest (well, besides the nude girls).
At least we know that Telenet never relinquished their IP, well, they never let go of Valis, anyway. I hope they retained rights to the rest of their back-catalogue as well. Besides Valis, was the Cosmic Fantasy series their most popular / profitable product? I'd have expected to see CF before Valis, actually, considering how popular cellular RPG's seem to be in Japan.

I have had a huge hatred towards cellular telephones for years. I absolutely refuse to ever buy one, unless it's from the 80's.

Nice to see that the Valis franchise is getting a revival of sorts. :)
While Yuko's new character design makes her look more cute, I still prefer the original artwork that makes her look more serious and determined which is sexy in itself.
And the Valis series seriously needs a revival for modern consoles. Heck, I want all 4 games to be re-released for the systems here in the west considering how the old Turbo Duo releases never got much push. :(
And an anime series would be nice too... :)
