Title: Turbo Duo-R crashing
Post by: kakutolives on March 19, 2012, 10:02:59 AM
Just got my Duo from Samurai Ghost and very happy with it except for one thing.
On the first time i turned it on, played sf II for a couple of mins and out of nowhere console froze, and video signal got scrambled. Ive never owned a NEC product so wondering how common this issue might be. It has only happened once since saturday but has me concerned.

Thanks

generally thats caused by a connection issue between the card (cartridge) and the system.
just lightly clean the card before inserting and it should be fine

yeah, that sounds more like a connection issue than a system issue.
try rubbing a pencil eraser over the contacts on the hucard.
you might want to clean the hu slot, though i don't know exactly how to do that...

Is it region modded? A loose wire on the region mod could cause this.

true nat, a switch type with a dirty switch will as well

I was not told that it was region modded so i would doubt it. I guess ill shoot a pm to Samurai Ghost just to ensure. I am now kind of unsure how to feel. I mean could it just have been a coincidence? I mean Paranoia can trickle up on you when you get a new toy :P

take it easy. the R model is one of the strongest up to date, and hueys never gave any hardware problems so far known. just do what was told you to do and clean the cards/port connections. and the world will be fine :)
