Title: Energy question
Post by: apachacha on March 25, 2012, 10:49:55 AM
Before anyone says anything, yes I know the rep this game has. And I still want to play it.
But I came back to it after more then a year since I last played it, and I can't remember how you activate the necklace in the fire area. Just like everything else ? Because I select it and yet I still seem to take dammage.

I don't seem to recall having a problem. lol. I also haven't finished the game in awhile.
It is one of those games where sometimes shit just doesn't work like it's supposed to though.
Maybe I'll fire the game up in a bit, but I am supposed to be doing my dumb thesis.

Do you happen to have the turbo switches active when you try to use the necklace? I typically don't use turbo switches for Energy. I could see it causing a problem when trying to use the necklace though.

Thing about that is, I'm not even 100 % sure what activates items sometimes. I know you need to press two buttons at once....but I usualy don't have my health constantly drained before I figure it out !
You just press both buttons (I and II) at the same time.
So, if you've got turbo switches on, that could be confusing the game.
So, just mash I and II until you stop dying.
Hey, that actualy worked ! Which is great, seeing I'm almost dead whenever I get down here.
Thanks man.

Have to thank you guys, as I finaly managed to beat the sunuvabitch.
Note: forcing you to go back and forth through the entiere game multiple times is not game design.

Took me a while to figure it out but looks like you have to press I+II at the same time to use items like when you get to the lake, you have to use the item you get from the frog guy to get across.

It would've taken you less time if you read this thread, lol, because I said that.

I got all the way to the end when I ran out of life!!! There's so much backtracking in this game you get impatient and start blowing through screens and run into the randomly respawning enemies. I don't know if I have what it takes to sit through another night of it.....

Think of it like Adventure Island: Dragon Trap. You go all the way, and end up restarting because you made a mistake, or Illusion Of Gia.

Bump for best bad pce game, needs some more loving! It was a PC88 game called Ashe originally that they "improved" in a way for pce and made some changes. Here's some more info on the original http://www.8-bits.info/gamelist/PC88/info/info_iSZZ0rhP2eIzaGrY.php
