My wife is totally down for some retro gaming and I want to know which games, other than the bombe rman series, has good vs and co-op play.
-
Cadash MOTHERf*ckER.
Dungeon Exploaroaror
Buster Bros (holyf*ckyesdoitnow)
Parasol Stars!
That's basically all you need really.
If some of these aren't 1 player, my bad. I don't have any friends.
-
My favorite vs. game on the system is World Class Baseball. I'm not normally into sports games, but this one is a blast for 2 players.

Magic Engine needs some online functionality :P

Ohhellyes. Hi-five for that one, although, Pomping World sounds better IMO.
God I LOVE that game, I'm gonna play it tonight.

Kick ass, thanks guys!

Keranu and I once played a tandem all-night Ghost Manor marathon from different countries. It was a fun way to experience the game for the first time. :)

In addition to some of the other fine suggestions, try out Pop 'n' Magic, Puyo Puyo, Splash Lake, Faceball (heh), Monster Lair, and Bonk 3.
-
Faceball is pretty good shit. I still need to nab me a rlysrs copy of it
-
I think Buster Bros, Splash Lake, and Parasol Stars are the best co-op games on the system in terms of being accessible to a wide variety of players with varying skill levels. The action puzzlers are always rockin' awesome.
-
I've had the most co-op fun playing Monster Lair.

I'll throw in another vote for Bubble Bobble III/Parasol Stars. Back in the day my (ex-)wife and I played all the way through this thing. It gets extra points for actually being Bubble Bobble III, and anyone of our age group that had an NES as a kid (women included) pretty much knows about Bubble Bobble.
