Which do you like more? :)
-
Devil's Crush. The Music! The graphics! The Samples! But the thing that I love most about it is, strangely, the many glorious hues that the robed wizards in the top table change to every time your ball goes into the launchers.
-
Devil's Crush 120%
-
Aliens Crush was the fourth game I ever got. Only got DC a couple years ago. It's pure nostalgia for me...
-
This is a tough one. Technically, I'd say Devil's Crush is the better game. But for me, Alien Crush always played better. It's more concise and I like the board layout better.
That's just me, though.
-
I like Devil Crash more.
-
Devil Crash all the way baby the music ROCKS
-

Ditto. DC "crushes" AC on paper with scrolling and 1 more playfield level. But I have issues with the ball physics on DC, there are a few times where it does not do what feel it should. AC plays faster and it has that whole organic-alien vibe which works for me versus the medieval-castle that Devils' has.
I have both and would never drop it from my collection.
-
Is there an ending to Alien Crush? It seems the counter just starts again once you've filled it.
-
I prefer Devil's Crush for its awesome tunes and scrolling screen (screen flips kinda kill the pacing), but you really can't go wrong with either of 'em.
P.S. - I voted for Time Cruise!
-
Alien Crush for me. I like the theme more, and I feel that Devil's Crush is more difficult and really frustrating because I loose balls more than I'd like. What I don't like is that raising points in either takes too long: Alien Crush because of the lack of big combos and Devil's Crush because it's way easy to die before time.
-

you're supposed to get 9999999999999 or whatever and then fight the boss. This is all second hand info, because I've never managed to get there, but my friend did on the Megadrive version.
-
Devil's Crush is the best pinball video game ever, period.
-

Yes, there is an ending. It can be beaten with a score of 999,999,900. At least, thats what the Devils Crush manual says. Page 8 bottom right, under playing tips. It refers to Alien Crush.

Alien Crush has some of the best graphics that will ever grace a game.

I have to say I agree. Sometimes I lose my ball just cuz I was tryikng to look at the backgrounds and not keep an eye on the ball itself. lol

Turbo version of Devil's has no boss, just a very short ending with the girl. Alien Crush has a text-only ending ("Congratulations, you beat the Aliens" or some shit like that IIRC) as I discovered once when my ball got stuck forever in some score-increasing part of the background. I was playing it in an emu, so I turned frameskip all the way up, went and watched TV for 2 hours and came back to see the score max out and the "ending" start.
That's the end of my story. :-)

Don't you two talk about the wrong game here? :D

I was playing it on the bus once, when my ball did the same thing. I popped it on the seat next to me for a bit and started playing something else, but eventually, it restarted.
I dunno if it was the battery, or something built in, but bummer :(

Devils Crush is (to me) the best pinball game released EVAR!!!!!

Not unless you're the type who thinks that R-Type's visuals are nothing special.
-
There're pretty close for me but I have to go with devil crush because it has better music.

R-Type has best visuals of ever.

Devil Crush without a shadow doubt for me :@)
-
I gotta say, Devil's Crush does it for me. It's just more intense and the music is the best music on any HuCard, imo.

Time Cruise II really needs to be on this poll. Though, was there ever a TC 1?

Not for PCE.
-
TC 1 came out exclusively for the TG-16 in the great ol' US of A!
I voted Alien. Yeah, DC is technically the better game but Alien has staying power. It still kicks major ass, 25 years later. Plus, the scrolling in DC bugs me. I need to see where my ball is going before it gets there. Not to mention two soundtracks are better than one!
-
i voted DC
its the first video pinball i ever liked.
AC is a close second

Turbo TC"1" is actually PCE TC 2 with the "II" taken off the title screen.
FACE did actually start development on Time Cruise (1) for the PCE and showed it in Feb. 1990:

It had countries as its theme, apparently. Who knows why they cancelled it and started on the apparently blander TCII instead...

I love the song that plays when entering high scores in Alien Crush. GODDAMN! I would purposefully not hit "end" just so I could listen to the song as long as possible. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcds.png)

If only the unused Time Cruise 1 content was included as a hidden bonus in Time Cruise II (PCE)!!!!
That would have been wonderful. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcds.png)

This one is so hard. Both are amazing and my faves of the "Arcade Action Pinball" genre that no one seems to use anymore. Pinball of the Dead for the GBA seems to be the last, and amazing, game in the genre. However, Alien Crush is like the first I remember ever playing. Really, there does need to be a "Both" option because both games really have their own merits. I do like the fact that Alien Crush is a Turbo exclusive though, unlike Devils.

While I enjoy playing Devil's Crush a lot more overall, Alien Crush looks f*cking great in pictures. I still remember the Turbo Express magazine ad with an Alien Crush screenshot on the monitor. Who wouldn't want to play that combination of Turbo Express and Alien Crush? That looked like a Ferrari in a fleet of schoolbuses.

Alien Crush isn't a Turbo exclusive :/

Are you thinking of Devil's Crush/Dragon's Fury?
-
Oh wait. I thought he meant Turbo exclusive as in US only release. I meant Alien Crush was released in Japan (PC Engine) too.
I guess he means it wasn't released on the Genesis or whatever.

Yeah, at the end he said "unlike Devil's". Personally, I'd love a low res Genesis port of Alien Crush. It's perfectly suited for color compromising and would still look great. It would be cool to hear renditions of the bgms that were handled at least as well as Dragon Fury's.
-
My vote goes to alien crush, i used to spend hours playing that game, i had crazy high scores. IMO Devils crush wasn't that good, i played it a few times, never really got into it. Alien crush is better because it really tests your reflexes, it faster paced, more action and more fun.
-
Back in the day (1996 or 97) I got what I thought was a "super high score" in Alien Crush. I filmed the high score screen with my video camera (back when they still actually used tapes) to save it for posterity. Well, I came across that video tape within the past year. I really should find that part on it and convert it to a digital image and post it up here. I'm not sure if the "super high score" is in reality really all that high. I was still a teenager in high school at that point (probably stoned) and my skillz then weren't what they are today.

Devil so crushes Alien.

Devil so crushes Alien.
I could not vote for one because, as several sagacious folks have already pointed out, Alien Crush is no slouch and is a gem of its own. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)
I used to think that Devil's Crush was superior, but, recently, I've loved alternating between the two. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)
-
Yeah, it's hard to choose but Devil's Crush is such an amazing game. Love everything about it, including the theme, mini-games, music, graphics, control... wow! Alien Crush is also awesome, but for me I've spend the most time with DC and it's the number one pinball game on the PCE for me!
-
I vote Jaki Crush.
...NOT!
-
Why is this even an issue? Everyone knows Crüe Ball is the best.

You totally reminded me of something (http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=2445.msg27058#msg27058) from many moons ago:
Devil's Crush - Take all of the innovative elements of Crüe Ball, strip them away, and you're left with Devil's Crush. What a piece of Chip. Neither pentragrams nor the Green Reptile Devil himself can mask the deficiencies in this game. End of story.

Ah yes, the timeless TurboChip DUDS thread.
