Post by: Samurai Ghost on March 31, 2012, 09:54:38 PM
UPDATE: SOLD!

Looking to complete your US Turbo DUO collection?
I'm willing to part with these rare releases for the right price, so send me a PM if you are interested.

The discs are in excellent condition with no scuffs or scratches, and the inserts are not creased or soiled anywhere. The cases are in generally great shape but have a few light scratches on them. Please have a look at the pictures for the condition, and high res pictures available upon request.

I wonder if the MSRP was on there simply to make the standard $50-60 price tag feel like a comparative "bargain". (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

They aren't official releases by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, they aren't even actually TG-16 software, are they? I thought they were just CG+Gs and therefore are as much TurboDuo software as they are 3DO or Saturn software other than the fact that some sleezebucket operation wrote, "FOR TURBO DUO USE" on it. Maybe I'm imagining that. Either way, they aren't needed for a complete collection.

On second thought...a "complete collection" in itself is something that isn't sane to begin with, so spend away, I guess.

Does anyone know how to make CG+Gs? I'm thinking of becoming a Duo developer!

Is this true?

I'm not sure about the CD+G part, but they are obviously unofficial and totally crap.

Yeah, they are unofficial and just basically a slideshow of pictures, but they were released back in the day for the DUO so are therefore considered a part of the TG-16 library by most people, just like countless other unofficial releases for other systems like the Games Express games for PC Engine, bible games for NES, etc.

Also, I'm sure other unofficial releases such as Arkhan's games will become collector's items at some point as well! So please develop a lot of TG-16/PCE software and become rich!!  :D

But are they CG+Gs? I was thinking they were, but that might have been a dream I had...

Haven't we had this discussion before?  They are not CD+Gs, PhotoCDs, or such similar common formats.

Insanity on cdr is already one of the most valuable Turbo games. The professionally manufactured copies have only increased in collectors value by 50%.
