did we had that before?
Our visual tribute to voice-acting highlights—well, voice-acting lights of some sort—debuts with a look at 1989’s Last Alert.

I'd heard a lot about that, and it was on my list - but I recently picked up Red Alert for a pittance, and the US version is generally a lot more expensive. I have to say, it's not a bad game, but for some reason it makes me hold down the buttons way too tight.

The concept, presentation and execution of that video was superb! I love that old fellow (our host).
But, surprisingly, the video does not incorporate much dialogue from the game itself! Just a few in-game encounters with bosses... Lord knows Last Alert has plenty more (plus the cinema scenes). I wish they included at least a few more lines of dialogue (would it hurt to use a second excerpt from a cinema?).
Still, this was a great video. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

I promise you: you have not experienced ecstasy until you have experienced Last Alert. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

(http://junk.tg-16.com/images/hany_in_the_sky.png) Hany says, "Guy Kazama is not laughing."
...
That said, we can certainly laugh (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

I want to see more videos with him! His delivery is so wonderful, I never doubted his wisdom. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

Haha Valis III sure isn't to far off from that. For the Japanese speakers here how does the pc-engine version compare voice wise? I know just because I can't understand everything they're saying that it's automatically good voice acting.
That guy is awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Apparently the Japanese were so impressed with Guy Kazama's US voice acting that they got him to voice act for Japanese only games! (Legion, I think he's in Browning too?)

People have said that Turbo CD games like Valis II were actually dubbed in Japan. The Guy Kazama voice actor probably worked in Japan as an actor already and might have even recorded PCE game dialogue in the same studio as for Turbo games.

Never heard of that before, makes a lot of sense.

Now where's dargons slayers on that list

Yeah, great video, it was fun, worthy of a facebook share even, but too too short! So much more potential given the loads of material he could've worked with/included from LA... :( Anyway, good find! This guy is the coolest Gaming Grandpa ever!

why can't the host be less Puck, and more Connerish. Last Alert, I played that game, and with Rambo not being real and all , and the localizer/translator of Metal Gear being an Omega Bitch [-(, I would prefer the Red Alert. The script did sound cool but too much 1960's batmanish.

RegalSin, you're some sort of genius!

@Tatsujin: It looks like the youtube account for gameological was created on Jul 11, 2011 and remained inactive for almost a year till Apr 8, 2012, when the owner posted the video you linked to us here. How did you find out about this video and do you know if this was the first of what will be an attempt at a series based on this type of shtick ?? There doesn't appear to be a website for this 'gameological' group - I did post the question to the comment section of gameological's account because you can't message him, so we'll see if whoever eventually responds or not...
