Title: Matt Groening Reveals the Location of the Real Springfield
Post by: roflmao on April 14, 2012, 01:56:38 PM
Here's an interesting read if you're a Simpsons fan: http://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-culture/Matt-Groening-Reveals-the-Location-of-the-Real-Springfield.html

I haven't seen a new episode in ages, but it'd be neat to see tomorrows.  Too bad I don't get Fox.  :?

I don't know, but I think new episodes air Sunday nights so it's whatever tomorrows is. :P  I'm sure I'll be able to find it on bittorrent Monday if I remember and want to go through the effort. :P  Thanks though!

I wonder why anyone would care about the Simpson's town.

It all for fun.  It been an on going thing for years.  They had a contest to hold the Simpsons movie premier in the Springfield that got the most votes (we lost).  Matt Groening sent a plaque to the mayer here at one point a long time ago saying this was the "Real Springfield" anyway.

Personally, I've never watched Simpsons, so why would people get excited about the city?  I don't know, but I guess it's no different then a bunch of grown men getting a hard-on for video games/systems from the 80's/90s ;)

When you create a product you do not reveal, your relations or inspiration source for a product. That is one of the many basic rules of making something.

Right now the Simspons are so gone, he feels they can't get any stronger then they were before or even now. Like how South Park never talked about their origins.
