I have NEVER understood space harrier. It just seemed like a weird afterburner prototype to me.
I recently picked it up for £5 with R-type, stuck it in, played it for the first time in years... still don't get it.
Soop, don't get all barmy on me!!! Space Harrier is SUPERIOR to AfterBurner, IMHO.
Actually, it's funny, we are polar opposites in regard to these two games: The concept and execution of Space Harrier grabs my attention and interest and holds it. Afterburner (and all similarly themed games with standard issue jets, copters, tanks) simply can't compare to giant mushrooms, Mecha, DRAGONS spewing fire!!!, other-worldly architecture, etc. etc.
I mean, jet planes are so mundane compared to the psychedelic experience of Space Harrier. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)
But, I still like playing AfterBurner…it's a great game. I just wish they threw an occasional giant bouncing mushroom in AfterBurner, that's all (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png).

I love the fact that SPACE HARRIER is on that list. :)
For my NES collection I need Bubble Bobble 2, Duck Tales 2, NWC, and 10 yard fight.
I seen Bubble Bobble 2 at the exchange and they was asking $200 for it.
Heh... We have The Exchange stores in Pittsburgh too. They usually price fairly here, but I have noticed that they don't seem to have uniform pricing across different locations. Even in the same store, I've seen the same cart priced at 2.50 and 10.00 with no cosmetic differences.

Yea we have a few of them in the greater Cleveland area and I've seen Harvest Moon (snes) priced at $100 and another 1 priced at $135 so I guess its whatever ebay currently has it listed for they price it for.

You are literally buying up shit faster than the market can provide it. These PCE goods are called "rare" for a reason, money alone can't materialize them out of thin air just because you're on a bender and need immediate satisfaction.

I didn't see the pictures when they were first posted - I just saw them now.
All I can say is, WOW ! I didn't expect somebody else to outdo my collection so completely. I'd love to come and visit, even if just to see some of the things - 2 or 3 softs, like Akiyamajin and Power League Gold. I have a lot less hardware (and not in such good condition)... I'm surprised that somebody else even knows about "Illust Booster" and "Photo Reader". And my room is an utter mess (so no pictures...)
I suppose the only things I have that you need, would be PC Engine-related books and magazines...and maybe a wall hanging or two. Oh, and perhaps some VHS videos...
Congratulations !

Didn't see where this had been answered. I noticed the box also had Power VR on it, so I'm assuming this was an NEC PC video card? One of the very very early 3D video cards before ATI (AMD) and nVidia cornered the market. Couldn't find a picture of that exact box, though, so I'd be very curious to know the story behind it as well... am I on the right track, or is this a VR headset for Falcon & Gunboat? ( :
It is the pc video card of nec. It was used later on the dreamcast :) It was very powerful at that time!

Nice magazine collection... but I haven't seen your Marukatsu set yet. ;-)
...And "Dengeki PC Engine" becomes "Dengeki G's Engine" from 1996-08 to 1997-07, with substantial PC-FX and PC Engine content... (and hentai). I don't believe that you have those in your photos.
It seems like you have been completing your set very quickly - congratulations ! But I'd like to know a better way of finding the last few issues for myself. I need about 10 issues across all 4 magazines.

I am getting many Marukatsu's soon, i need your 1989 June and November numbers (can i have detailed photos?). Dengeki's Gs engine isn't a collection of pce ngine magazine cause the magazine covers all systems. And from 1996 / 06 it changed from Dengeki pc engine to Dengeki G's. I collect only pc engine related items :)

Maybe i can find some of your missing pcengine fan magazines, but i need your pc engine fan 1989 /05 :) Or some 1989-1990 marukatsu's.
For magazine "complete" what you mean? no missing pages or also with Special INSERT??

OK, I can consider trading my only copy of a magazine (such as 1989/05 PCE Fan) for an issue I am completely missing. I could also trade my "good" copy of something (say, June 1989 Marukatsu) for the right missing magazine.
I have separated the "completely missing" magazines from the "replacement due to missing pages" in my listing.
I am also willing to trade any furoku (special insert) or separate PCE book that I have, in order to help get any of the missing magazines. Let me know if you're searching for any books or inserts, and I can search my collection.
Quote

Basically I meant "no missing pages". It's not really realistic to get a magazine with all of its original pack-ins anymore, so I am explicitly listing the pack-ins. I updated the post to clarify this.

And how is this not being a collectard? Nothing is being played while it's sealed. I don't get this forum here is a guy looking for the rares and wanting to pay 1000 for MC but no one flames him. Others come looking for regular titles and get shit on for asking......something smells fishy here and my Ex-Wife is still not in town lol.

thank you very much for GOKU to super deadite!!!! I have nec ldrom fullset now, ill post photo next days.
Its not a game, its a fortune telling machine really. Basically you pick a category and the devil asks you a question pauses for a few seconds, and then tells you the real truth behind your answer. For example, one subject is camping. He will ask "Who would you pick to make the fire?" "That person is someone you want to have sex with because fire is hot." As a cheesy party game for Japanese speakers its ok, but being a video his answers never change, so its kind of a one trick retarded pony.

You ought to look into getting some TG-16 box protectors from videogameboxprotectors.com (http://www.videogameboxprotectors.com/store/4569532134). I have them for my CIB games, and they not only look great, but they actually help to 'reshape' any boxes which may be bent out of shape somewhat. Below are some pics of my nearly complete box collection for TG-16 all in box protectors.

The US Quiz Econo seems a bit harder to locate than the others, but I think they must have made way too many for the US. Both my Vajra and Quiz Econo were sealed when I got them.

I referenced before, but there is a sealed Manhattan Requiem on ebay now:
I think a fair price is closer to $100, but figured the link doesn't hurt.
Thanks, but it seems some faded on the spine...or not? Did you bought my akuma no shindan on ebay? :) I will ship it tomorrow.
I would have to look at mine again for comparison, but I don't see the fading?
I did buy your game. It was the last game I needed, because I have bought it twice and once it cracked in shipping and then the second time there was no obi. As I said, the game is cursed!

:o Man... How do you find or afford all this stuff? Are you independently wealthy or something?
This is only minimum part of what i have. I have many other fullset as Wonderswan, neogeo aes, neogeo cd, neogeo pocket, Megadrive , Megacd, Sega 32x etc.. I collect from about 20 years ago. And i work from 15 years ago ;) I only spent money on games.
However NEC is my PASSION. I am trying to get last items i need. Please help (see page 1)

PC ENGINE XE-1 AJ INTELLIGENT CONTROLLER (XE1-AJ)
I do not think there is a specific PC-Engine version of the Intelligent Controller. It is more commonly called the Cyberstick. It was produced via partnership by both Micomsoft and Sharp. The Micomsoft version has red buttons, while the Sharp one has black buttons and was the official analog controller of the X68000. To use the controller on a PCEngine, you have to use the XHE-3 adapter. Micomsoft still has a list of their discontinued hardware on their website, and there is no mention of a PCE specific version....

I pulled out my poster last night and took a picture:
(https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7453/15871241044_fa18150622_z.jpg) Ys IV Poster by xelement5x, on Flickr
It says PC Engine in the lower right corner, and it's the size of like a regular piece of paper when folder so I'm guessing it's from a magazine too. I got it awhile back randomly with a bunch of other stuff I got from Japan. If you know what issue though, I'd love to find that as well to match them up :)
Sorry for derailing too!

That doesn't just say "PC Engine", it says "Dengeki PC Engine" (the name of the magazine). The lower-right corner also says "2月 付録2", which means "February, second pack-in/insert". Below that is a copyright message for 1993, so I guess February 1993.... but that's WRONG.
I check my own copy of the magazine (it's the first issue of Dengeki PC Engine), and confirm that insert #2 was a poster for.... Sotsugyou (Graduation).
I check February 1994's issue, and it's a veritable Ys 4 festival, including the poster.

Speaking of Y;s - have you guys seen the Japanese-based anime DVD set? I bought it back a few years ago, it is REALLY well done. The version I had is published by some US firm I can't recall now (I still have it in my collection). It is very faithful, covers the advantures of Ys 1 and then entering the world of Magic-filled Y's2. Someone should re-release that in HD 1080 format!!

Yeah, you're thinking of Anime Works/Media Blasters. I uploaded the Ys II-based AMV promo on YouTube a while back. The youtube description has all the links to everything related. You could buy the 3 DVD anime set separately or since 2004 a newer release that included all of them together. They ran out of separate ones I recall, but you can buy used copies. I bought them from some Ys fan ages ago - I agree, I think it was localized well and enjoyed all the episodes. Too bad the Ys IV anime didn't get made. The existing anime set covers Ys I & II for those that don't know and Falcom tried to get Ys IV made, but couldn't.

What controllers do you feel are the rarest? Kid's Station X1 Twin Pad Pac N10 Pad Others?
Well Kids station pad is the rarest one, but i don't know if N1 pad exists boxed....i never seen one. But find a normal pc engine controller boxed was the hardest part! lol

Yes they are cool, but i think only Super darius is pc engine-related?
Yes. Super Darius Perfection is the PC Engine game. Darius II, the arcade game. Same as with the first Darius release. Darius Gaiden though is totally different. It's a live action movie wrapped around the game. It's very cool! (And quite disturbing!). :)

Arrived, by pceworks. (http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z34/RANCE6/DSC_0415_1.jpg)
Congrats on your purchase from a known lying scam artist who perpetrated fraud against the public by claiming his Sapphire bootlegs were authentic when he first starting doing this, even going as far as fabricating a document by Hudson Soft to back his claims up, and who slapped my Xak III fan translation on to these CDs without permission, not because he feared I would say no, but because of greed and the desire to pocket 100% of whatever net profit he would make minus cost of production per CD, etc. Also add Tru/John and his SO II translation who also was not contacted (I have yet to report this to Tru, but I will time permitting), etc. So yes, congrats! Supporting scam artists is brag worthy!

I've not seen it available online anywhere (though that's not to say it's not been made available). I believe I have the complete set of Laserdiscs (I wrote about them here on my blog: http://iancortina.co.uk/2014/01/17/darius-laserdiscs/). It took me a couple of years to complete the collection. I did have Darius 2 on VHS as well (the others are available on VHS as well) but sold it as I preferred the Laserdisc (no chance of the picture degrading, but on the flip side every chance of disc rot in the years to come).
There was a G-Darius VHS as well, though I've never seen a Laserdisc for that one, and I don't think it was an offficial release either. I think anything that came after that would be 'in-house' recordings from game centre's (Mikado springs to mind), YouTube and so on.
Apologies for derailing the thread. :)
P.S: Check these posts as well if you like Lords of Thunder:

OK. I am intrigued by the remastering you did for Winds of Thunder. I don't know when I will have a chance to listen to it, but rest assured I will.
I would be happy to offer the "original" and "remastered" versions of soundtracks at the-16.com.
One thing I have wanted to do for years is to clean up the Stage 1 music from Valis II CD-ROM. There is noticeable "static" when the song loops (and volume fades)...I used to think it was introduced to the TG-CD version (simply an error), but I was disappointed when the original PCE Red Book exhibited the same flaw.
Anyway, welcome, comrade. :)
ALSO: I think Red Book was mastered towards the "middle range" because many folks were relying on tony speakers in televisions and the goal was to provide a decent sound on very limited speakers....it was a compromise, sure, but they could not count on folks having amp/receiver + nice speakers to appreciate very dynamic range. My two cents. :)

Here it is: Super real mahjong 2&3 Special Custom 15 pcs made. Finally!
Oh, almost forgot, here's the PCE Works website from where I made my previous fine purchases! Excellent communication, fast shipping, best darn bootlegger that I know, will do business with again in the future! FYI, so grab those limited deluxe editions while they're hot and still available! HURRY!
https://pceworks.wordpress.com/
Also, don't pay mind to the unruly/uncivilized element 'round here on PCEFX... After all, bitches gonna bitch, haters gonna hate, or rather, what best exemplifies or captures the PCEFX culture: Riders gonna riiiiiiiiide, ride 'em hard! Yeeeehaaaawwwww! Heh-heh. Know what I'm sayin', right folks ?? That's just how it goes around here, people here will bitch at just about anything, boy, I tell ya... It sure does amuse me sometimes...
Bottomline, Tobias makes fine product, it's just undeniable and he needs our full support and marketing! Who cares about how he forged/fabricated a document purported to be by Hudson Soft in order to commit fraud against the public to help convince them that he somehow scored the last manufactured batch of Sapphire CDs when all along they were bootlegs that he pressed himself...
Who cares about all the people, all the buyers that thought they were buying an authentic copy, or all the resellers that thought they were selling an authentic copy, all so that he could maximize profit and make out like a bandit in such an epic fraudulent fashion... Who cares ?? Get over it... It was 8 friggin' years ago... Why still so "butthurt" about it ? OH MY GAWWWDDD!!! You people hold on to grudges for way too long... /storino
Who cares about a recent member here who paid $600 for a sealed Sapphire CD on eBay because both he and the seller thought that it was real, only to find out it was one of Tobias' bootlegs upon opening ?? So what if the seller thinks the buyer is lying and refused the return, so what if this happened to hundreds of other people over the past 8 years... Get over it!!!!!! Move on!!!!
As an aside, good thing everyone mentioned that got burned by his fakes (buyers and resellers alike) didn't think to organize themselves and file some kind of class action lawsuit for fraud/false marketing or whatever other charge could be possible for his actions! Glad he totally got away with it and dodged that bullet!! He apparently suffered no negative consequences whatsoever and today one can even find his products featured on several Youtube channels like Happy Console Gamer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udWmBYA6MiI) and so forth, etc. How's that for successfully remaking your image from a prior lying fraudster ? Most impressive!
As for his recent bootlegs of pressing fan translations without permission/inclusion of the fan translation team, who cares, they uploaded it to the Internet for free, so too friggin' bad! They should've pressed a CD themselves if they wanted to somehow monetize the work! Either do that or please just STFU! They're just jealous he beat them to the punch and can make such fine looking professional product! Snooze you lose! I don't give two f--ks either way, I got my copies and an awesome gold-looking coin Working Designs style! Can't beat that! Like I said, will happily do business with him again in the future. Don't like his prices or his "unconventional" methods, don't f--king buy the product. Simple as that! Tough!
 Admittedly, liberties were taken for entertainment purposes, but eh, I mostly stand by it.
If I just bought a bootleg, showed it off in a thread, then somebody tells me that the particular bootlegger I got it from forged a document in the past to perpetrate a con job that fooled hundreds of people into believing he had procured a final batch of officially produced Sapphire CDs to maximize sales/profit (plus evade eBay regulations against counterfeits), that it caused chain reactions down the road between buyers and resellers not knowing what-was-what which cost 'em hundreds of $$$, and that said bootlegger got away with it all, returned again but this time to profit from fan work he had no part in like hackulation ports (Bonknuts' MegaMan), translations (what he just bought), well, most people would perhaps respond by questioning their actions at the very least, etc.
Instead, what we got was something of a flippant, callous action of just posting the website link of said criminal bootlegger and then in a further weasel fashion attempting to change the subject. Many interpretations can be made from this, e.g. he thinks he's funny, it's all funny, big deal, doesn't give a shit, move on already, etc. It then begs the question, how far would Tobias have to go under kisaku's morality to warrant criticism at the very least, boycotting at the most ? What kind of future con jobs, fake documents, whatever other profiteering schemes would Tobias have to be caught in to warrant criticism under his eyes ? One wonders...
Does a criminal like Tobias deserve to ever be forgiven ? That can only ever start by genuinely coming clean and apologizing something he's never done to my knowledge. Something like, "I want to come clean about some of my dark past. I want to say that I'm deeply sorry for some of the things I did... I needed money badly at times, so yes, I forged that Hudson document about my Sapphire bootlegs so I could get to sell them on eBay for one, and to maximize profit... I wish to formally apologize to all the people that were fooled by this and for all the damage that it caused down the road between future resellers/buyers. I shouldn't have done it and I can't take it back, I can only offer my sincerest apologies..."
Has he ever done this somewhere ? No ? Then he's unapologetic and prefers to pretend like it never happened which is escaping/dodging your past versus coming clean with the public and healing something that to this day he got away with... Of course, sneaking around and seizing fan work for his bootlegs shows same ole same ole as well...

I don't care if it was for Arcade! I still can't believe the game had much of a following.

Wow, interesting! I am actually a Mega-CD collector myself (gradually working on the set) and I am constantly amazed at the number of different sample discs out there. I only have the Keio, Popful, and Lum ones I think, maybe Night Trap as well, but I always wondered if they were distributed in magazines or what, they seem to appear much more regularly than most sample stuff.

Hello eveyone, please help me to find these pc engine stuff:
pc engine (boxed mint):
Kids station fullset 7000$ Lords Of Thunder Demo Disc Super CD-ROM2 USA 900$ Magical Chase usa 1993 HuCard 2800$ PC Cocoron / PCココロン 1993 Super CD-ROM2 2800$
I think that the time for finding a nice boxed copy of the USA version of Magical Chase is past, but maybe you can get this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/161679761699?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) for the minimum bid? It looks very nice.

I got hold of a Jamiko PC boy a while ago.
Beware!!!! I damaged the card slot on mine the first time that I had it out to test, by using a region converter card. The pins on the slot are very poor quality and my convertor managed to bend a good chunk of them with ease!
I managed to bend the pins back so it plays cards but its still damaged #-o

They still have those, and other "Bazaru de Gozaru" goods (bags, etc.). I saw a whole bunch of them last time I was in Japan, but I can't clearly remember where I was (it was a storefront somewhere, probably Akihabara).
Although they created a PC Engine game for it, this mascot was used for a wide variety of NEC goods and services back around 1995, and for quite a while afterwards (perhaps even now, in some cases).
After some searching, I found this: http://jpn.nec.com/bazar/
In the "history" tab, it says that the characters existed since 1991, and there is a section called "premium goods" with 6 pages of Bazaru items. http://jpn.nec.com/bazar/library/history/cm.html
But your watch isn't in there. Maybe it was a game-related limited-edition...

Lol, this intrigued me so I downloaded the original photo from kisaku's page and zoooomed in. Whatever it was cost $373, and hilariously they printed the original purchaser's ENTIRE CC NUMBER on the receipt from TZD, it expired in '0203' however.

Back then (mid-late-90's), I remember HAND-WRITING my CC # on an order form and sending it in to tzd.com because I did not want to send it via website or online form.
Later, I may have called stuff in and given the info over the phone.

Does it have any PCE branding molded into the plastic?
Thank you.
As always, I love seeing everything that you find, but I also suspect that you are Spanish Royalty and simply filling your palace with the things you love. :)
I'm serious.

I need to know: the poster/advertisements for PCE games...where/how were those originally distributed? I know another PCE fan had a huge collection of them (and scanned them) years ago... but I never knew exactly what they were for (shop owners? Fans who requested them?)....
Thank you!
