I just stumbled across this and thought there may be some interest here.

It seems as if this was a game in production bitd that was never released. From what it sounds like this is an incomplete copy of the game, but still is very playable. There's a download link in the link above. I've downloaded the game, but won't get around to burning it and trying my luck at the swap trick (I've never tried playing CD-Rs before in my Saturn) for a couple of days, but it looks pretty spiffy from the screenshots and sample videos I've come across. Kind of looks like a cross between Donkey Kong Country and Metal Slug. :)

Wow, looks awesome. Wish I could play CD-Rs on my system.

just do the swap trick. u will have to open ur saturn to tape down a little switch. but do a search on youtube. its pretty easy to do

I got a chip in mine and region modded so I will check it out!

Yeah, I did it for a while when playing something...I think it was a CD-R of Lunar SSS because I didn't have the $60 needed at the time. I left the machine on for a couple of weeks because I didn't want to go through the swap process again. Saturns are tough.
If you are impatient you'll have to pop the disk off the spindle while its moving, which is scary but less brutish than it sounds. If you are patient you can wait for the drive to time out. This takes quite a while, maybe 5-10 minutes.

I remember seeing this game in magazines bitd. It's cool that it's finally available to play, even though likely not a great game.

Yeah, if this were an unreleased Jaguar game I could see getting excited about it.

wow, that looks fugly as hell..hehe. Probably also the reason it got canned in the first place ;D
But nevertheless cool, that it made it to a fan release :)
-
Yeah, I didn't get around to trying it out this weekend... :) Maybe next weekend.
-
Wow that looks so bad...... I have a mod chip in my Saturn so I'll have to give it a try.
-
Well, damage.................looks like a pre-rendered DKC< or Scud game. They probably canceled due to the waining popularity of the Saturn, and by waining, I mean the USA promoting only 3d games.
This game being released was probably too rated as too old, and nobody would buy it.
What I don't understand is why didn't anybody just made pre-rendered imagery for the game characters. We could have had a couple of good games, but instead we got
Mario RPG and Sonic-Flicky Island.

The same site also has Atomic Runner Chelnov available.

Wow. I f*cking hate Chelnov, but I must confess I've only played the Genesis version.
Its no mystery as to why this was cancelled. Even on the Saturn where all sorts of retro stuff was popular, this is a pretty bland looking ho-hum game to release on its own.
-
It's cool that they have this game archived and preserved for posterity, but it still doesn't really look like that great of a game. If it was a completely new title developed recently the way NG:Dev has been doing their Neo-Geo and Dreamcast releases or even Super Fighter Team with their Genesis/Mega Drive releases then I would definitely be on board.

Of all things, mutha f*ckin Chelnov. I think only Nintega liked that game....
