Title: Another upcoming PSP game from Falcom
Post by: ParanoiaDragon on May 11, 2012, 08:01:31 PM
Apparently this is somehow related to the Legend of Heroes games. I believe it's an offshoot, as it has the Trails name, but not the Legend of Heroes subtitle. Looks pretty cool to me. Reminds me of a not so serious Ys. More like maybe Gurumin or Zwei!.

The PSP was pretty much abandoned before the Vita even hit store shelves, so I'm betting no. It's only chance is as a downloadable on the Vita.

There may be 1 more PSP game, Final Fantasy 0 or whatever it's called now. It's part of the FF13 series IIRC. Though, they'll probably just end up updating it or something, & making it Vita, but they did say they were translating it at some point. E3 is soon, maybe they'll announce it there? As for anyother PSP games, maybe a game like this could be picked up by a publisher other then Xseed, since it's some sort of side story, & probably doesn't rely on the rest of the Trails series to be enjoyed, but, again, that's just a guess. :-k

Yeah. This game is weird. It's Zwei! 3 to me.
I'm more looking forward to the upcoming Vita games: the remake of Zero no kiseki and the Ys game.

I tried playing Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky for the PSP and it's just too slow for my tastes.

What's wierd is that at times while playing it, it felt slow for me...but once I beat it...I looked back & really enjoyed it, & am eagerly awaiting the sequals.

Hmm. I may give it another try. I was playing it off my memory card, so the loading issues (with the UMD) weren't the problem. I liked the music and the graphics were decent. Sucks that it is taking them ages to release the next two games. Would have preferred the psp, but vita would be fine too.

I'm still about half way through "The 3rd" in Japanese right now, and I have to say the first Trails in the Sky will always be my favorite. If it weren't for the cliffhanger ending, it would be a good standalone game. Both follow-ups feel like mission packs to me rather than original games. Personally, I was hugely disappointed when I played "Second Chapter"... but I seem to be a minority in this respect for some reason.

I'll hold my breath anyways. Tom's told me they're VERY dedicated to getting the other 2 out, one way or another, even if it has to be on Steam, but I'd obviously prefer PSP or Vita if only for a possible physical copy. I'm more concerned about the rest of the series (Zero & Blue) getting here, though, I guess there is a Vita version of Zero, so that might be an option down the line.
