Title: turbografx controller to pce mod
Post by: kakutolives on May 21, 2012, 05:11:07 PM
so I recently got a mini din 8 pin socket. I want to solder the turbografx controller wires and install them to the mini din socket, so it works on a pce instead.
anybody tried this and if so anybody got a color guide which could tell me which color goes to which pin?

thanks.

it's not too hard, check pinout on Gamesx.com and use an ohmmeter, you can figure out the existing wiring and then how you will adapte to PCE.

A better solution might be to swap the cables of a Turbo Tap and a PCE Tap.  That way you have an extension and a converter that you can then use all your original controllers on the other system.

I'm sure there's a thread on how to do it.

I've done that in reverse to use PCE controllers on a TG16, it's very nice.

Kakuto, an easier way of doing this is get a junk PCE pad and just swap the cables. The little wiring harness plugs right into the controller, no soldering required.
