Interesting. I bought a CD addon before they started including the CD+G Disc and the packaging looks NOTHING like that. Not exactly original when the same thing came out previously in different packaging. And I'd feel like a criminal asking $400 for the box alone... For shame.
-
I bought mine a few months after it came out, I think it had the same CDG on it, I still can not believe it is going for 400.00 right now.

Thats just it tho. The seller isnt asking for 400.00. It appears to be bid up to that amount. Wow.. Why cant I have one of those to slap on eBay? ](*,)

Wow, you're right. I didn't catch that. It was listed for $25. Hrmph.

$400 (or more) for a horribly faded chunk of cardboard.... aaarrgh!

At a glance I thought it was a case of "This looks like the whole system but really it's just the box" but I think the seller made it pretty clear that the system is not included.
I don't understand people sometimes.
-
that's mental its upto $400.00 for just a box still 2 days to go.
i only paid £72 for a turbografx 16 the cd add on and the plastic carry case it came with and a game true it was a bit of a bargin like but $400.00 just for the box lol.
-
It'll be fantastic if the seller ships it without wrapping it up in brown paper. I'm sure the buyer would love to receive an original box covered in waybills and invoices.
-
bit of a kick in the teeth that would be.
-
Wow, I'm astounded. I still have the box mine came in. I never would have thought it would be worth more than the system.
-

When I got my CD Addon, that's what happened to me. I don't remember what I paid for it (it was 15 years ago) but I was not happy when it arrived.
-
I wish I could go back in time and save mine. Oh well let's see how high it goes up.
-
I wish I kept my box back in the day but O WELL. I won't be spending a car payment on a empty box. People are nuts.
-
It was only a few years ago, but I wish I'd kept the brown TZD mailing box that my boxed Duo shipped in. I think it even had Air Zonk on it.

Now THAT would go for a good amount of money. :)

Is a TG16 CD complete (Console/Manual/Box) worth 400$? I don't think so. Why only the box is worth so much? People are just insane.
Maybe someone in here has TG16 CD complete. If so, how much did you pay or how do you think is worth?
-
A CIB TGCD sold on ebay a year or two ago. I don't remember how much it went for (and I'd be hesitant to quote the amount even if I did), but it was a serious chunk of cash. Those boxes are so huge almost nobody kept them.
-
This is just stupid!
$400, for a cardboard box! ](*,)

I've kept mine only because it's a great way to box up the entire system (the styrofoam inserts are shaped to hold the big, plastic carrying case) and between the mid-90s and the mid-2000s I moved a LOT. :) For the past 5+ years it's sat in the attic. As I've mentioned on other threads, mine was riddled with postal labels when I received it, so it's probably not worth diddly, but I wouldn't sell it anyway.
-
It's just a box....That's my two cents. I mean, it would be cool to see that box sitting up on a shelf in my room but I'd rather spend that money on more games than a box that just sits there.

Yeah, it would be cool. It would be just as cool if someone took scans of all the original boxes, photoshop'd them together and sold them as a panoramic poster. Having a nice glossy poster to remind me what everything looked like back in the day would be memory enough for me. You could start selling them for $20 a pop.
-
Yikes. It sold for $535.

I LOL at the whole CIB thing. It's even funnier when the box is empty.
-
Yeah it's just a box, but it's one damn rare box :)
-
man that's unbelievable well moneys in the cardboard not the console.
-
Wow, that's crazy. It makes it awfully damn tempting to sell mine as well. And I DO have all of the manuals. I still have the CD+G, too.
-
Wow I would love to have my box, many of my stuff got lost when we moved, ](*,) I used to keep everything.
-
Yea it was CRAZY the original BIN of it on that auction was $199.99 but the first bidder bidded it at $25.00 so that killed the BIN price and it went for $535 that is insane !!!
-
That's insane!!!!
and this is coming from a CIB NES/SNES collector!!

Or stupid! If someone really wanted that box they'd be checking the auctions for it every day or so and would have snapped it up at $200 instead of bidding up to $535.
-
ARE YOU f*ckING KIDDING ME? I've got two of those sun-faded motherf*ckers around somewhere.
-
YAGRS: You should sell your box and buy some awesome rare games instead.
-
How about sending me one =P~ lol
-

This. I enjoy having boxes/manuals for games as they actually serve a purpose (storing the game, having printed art on them, giving info/story on the game) but console boxes do nothing for me except take up room. Sell em and buy games!!
-
I agree with Keith Courage you should definitley sell them, imagine the cool stuff you can buy.
-
To be honest, the thought of selling a box for half a grand feels a bit dirty.
-
Not really if you are a hard core collector then they will welcome the BOX.
-

Nah, don't feel dirty about it. That's when this comes into play: "A fool and his money are soon parted."
-

They'd have to be on ebay pretty much 24/7 to do that though. In the past I've been pretty damn obsessed with ebay and have been on it pretty much all day long via my phone. I've seen many BINs sell in a matter of moments. Cheap BINs do exist (many people have no idea what they have) and they don't last.
-
I guess the CIB TG16 CD system I won at auction a few months ago would've been a great deal at $287 if the guy didn't SHIP IT IN THE ACTUAL BOX! The top of it is now covered in shipping stickers, which is a damn shame. I assume at this point it is kinda worthless, because box people are all condition whores too.
Too bad, I would've loved selling a box for $535! :-P
-
^ I'm not much of a box collector but that's is a shame/funny, too bad he didn't at the very least cover it in some brown grocery bags and package tape.
-
Looks like the buyer could've saved about $500 if they just waited til today:

This one lasted four minutes though.
-
Lets see if that box gets relisted for big $$$$
-
If it does I am bidding on it max 8.00. 8)

Proof that Ebay still works the way it should. Al least for some of us.
-
Reconsidered max 3.00.

I wonder how long that listing was on there for.
-
Let's see what this one goes for...

I think a reseller caught the last BIN. Looks the same to me.
-
You are right it does look the same as the last one. It probably will not go for so much since it is damaged.
-
Same seller, same photos, same box with the S-shaped tear in the front.

Yes, I confirm. The seller might have seen the other auction and removed it before anyone could buy it.
