Title: The Brothers Duomazov
Post by: Gogan on June 21, 2012, 02:07:18 AM
Haven't seen anything new yet this year. This makes me sad. What's the deal?   :(

I figured as much, as posts could be pretty far apart time to time. No biggie, as the backlog of content is rich indeed.

I was thinking of posting something about this as well. One of my favorite sites.

This site has provided so many quality reviews that I kind of understand they need time to play through other RPGs. What's impressive is that for most of the RPGs they've reviewed so far, they've cleared them several times!

This concerns me as well. I have seen Runinruder actively on the net only once this year. Nat has been MIA too. I hope for the best with them two. Not sure about the third guy.

For my part, the lack of updates is due to a combination of getting somewhat tired of the process after four hundred or so articles and finding other things more interesting than PCE right now.  I wouldn't call the site dead, though.  As soon as I'm back in the mood for playing Turbo--be that a day or ten years from now--posting will resume.  I'm glad that there are people who like the site, and the positive feedback is very encouraging.

What in the name of the devil could that possibly be? :P

Ykno, this is pretty much exactly what I was thinking after going back and browsing the site, looking at the large number of reviews, it's quite time consuming as well. Thx for the update, and I look foward to the next one(s)

What are your feelings of converting the site to a hard/magazine/book format? Publishing a Brothers Duomazov book series, or just one big one?

A few years back a couple guys along with myself started to write up a book that featured all turbo games with mini reviews and thoughts etc etc...  Then we realized how much work actually went into it, and that I'm a terrible writer, it started to fizzle out.

I personally would love to have a book/magazine copy of your site as I think the reviews are some of the better write ups of turbo/PCE related games anywhere.  :)

Just ideas..

I've praised your writing, Runin, more than once and I second the book idea. Once you get back into the Turbo, of course.

....So, what has grabbed your interest this time?  :)

Runin your site is totally awesome. I would say hands down the best review site out there that I've read.

My only gripe is the lack of coverage on turn-based strategy games.... though I know it's not your genre.

Better to ease up a bit rather than get burnt out. Just like reeling in fish...

Love the site too! Real world reviews with a few jokes in there.

Runin's been my favorite PCE reviewer since back in the GameFAQ days 10 years ago. Great times, great website!

My favorite part of those reviews is the screen shots, not that there's anything wrong with the writing but the screen shot are so purdy.

I wonder if they'd be open to submissions from other PCEFXers? I might not be the best with words but I would love being involved with a page like this and putting up some reviews of games that aren't up yet or my own reviews of games that already up there.
