I just got a PC-FX in the mail and I need to test it , but I have no games.
Tried to burn a disk with daemon lite, have the bin and cue file but the disk is not working. Does anyone know if this works on daemon lite? I've never needed to burn disks before so I have no idea if I'm even doing it right.

Things to try:
Try the disc in an emulator.
Buy at least one real game. That will prove the system works/doesn't work.
The systems are pretty reliable, usually. I'd guess it probably works.

I'm not sure about daemon lite but I've used the free program Imgburn with great results on PCE hardware. I can't imagine it wouldn't work for the PC-FX also.

First, don't use daemon tools for burning images. :) Great for testing images out in an emulator, but not so good for burning. Second, ImgBurn is actually a very good program to use. I use it for mostly all my image files. Where are you getting the images from? Make sure they are good rips. Last, what Zeta said. Make sure it will play an actual disc. I have actually had a PC-FX that would play actual discs, but refuse to boot certain CDr burns.

if it cant read an audio cd you might need a new laser

Lol how would this make a flamewar!
Anyway, all you gotta do is use Nero or Alcohol 120%. Burn it at 1-4x, on nice silvery bottomed CDs. You should be able to find a demo of Nero or something to get you by. IMGBurn works too.
Also, the PCFX has problems reading cheap CD-Rs. I had some early burns that had skippy/gimped out audio. Once done on diamond silverbacks, the skippy audio went away.
If you're using a bulk pack of like Memorex green bottomed CDR's, that can also be part of your problem.

Or pot adjustment, maybe even a re-cap. Try a glass mastered audio CD, if it can play your music you'll know it's working correctly.

Imgburn did the trick (though it said the burn failed?) thank you so much.
As for the flame war, I've been hanging around Neo-Geo.com so long everytime someone brings out questions on how to use "OMG teh Romz" they get the shit.
For now I'll be playing Chip Chan Kick and will start my search for real copies of the games.

When you burn with ImgBurn, uncheck all the options. It may have tried to verify the disc, which for whatever reason will create that error.
