Preparing to bring Guilty Gear back to arcades, Arc System Works has a new version – Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. This version uses Sega’s RingEdge 2 hardware and All.net P-ras Multi, which is pretty much Sega’s take on NESiCA x Live.
It’s unclear what changes Arc System Works is making to Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, but if you want an early look at the arcade version head to Club Sega in Shinjuku on June 30 or July 1st. They’re running a location test there.
Arc System Works also announced Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus for PS3 and Xbox 360 slated for summer, but still haven’t announced a release date.

Sounds cool, I haven't played a GG since Guity Gear XX#' or whatever it was called but it's always been one of my favorite 2D fighters of the new generation. Always great character design, presentation, and fast-paced gameplay! I don't see many arcades in the US these days but I'll keep an eye out for this one.

why did they bring back A.B.A
we need more robo ky!

I love Guilty Gear XX, but for goodness sake, make a new Guilty Gear that isn't pillarboxed on 16:9 screens.

If I recall Sega owned the rjghts to G.G. That's why they started work on blueballs...erm BlazBlue.

I bet its successor will be named "Guilty Gear 3X Accent Core² Plus R² Ultimate R" or so.

i still find that the very first PS1 only GG was the best they ever created. great combo system, block technics and a superb OST, which never could be topped by the later ones.

I wish more arcades had Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting machines.
-
I bought GGXX because of May and Bridget. I wonder if that means something... :-k

Better than the DC version?

DC has GGX, only PS1 has GG. The original GG is an interesting game. The instant kill can be done at anytime, nothing special required to do it, and if it hits, it wins both rounds. It's a rather crazy game of throw yourself at the other guy and see who f*cks up first. With GGX, they made a more mainstream balanced fighter. The insane "charge in and hope you don't die" pacing of the first game has never been seen since.

And that is why ppl are still playing and making it. At least you still have a copy of old GG so you can enjoy while the rest of us will play the future. I never got into it (block button kills it for me) but it is a staple of any tournament. Until SF4, the GG series brought the most diversity to the scene...it was/is new and good!

man, i just played GGXX^C+ the other day, testing out a video setup.
i'm exited to see what new stuff they add, but in the mean time i'm just getting pumped for persona 4 arena.
