Hi everyone, For sometime I wasn't sure if I wanted to collect for the TG16 / PCE (NES / Genesis veteran). After watching some Turboviews, I decided to get me a system.
After some research I went with a region modded Duo-R. It arrived on Friday along with Bomberman 93, Kaizō Chōjin Shubibinman, Parodius (can't stop playing that one), Galaga 88, Wonderboy 3, Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball Bu: Soccer Hen and Keith Courage.
Overall, I love my new system, my only complain would be the controller cable is too short, which takes me to my first question
Will this cable work as an extension?

If not, what would you recommend?
What would you recommend as a spare controller?
For my final question, What games would you recommend that fit a (give or take) $100 budget?
I'm a newbie in the PCE world and I already feel passion for the system (I'm not getting Magical Chase though, haha)
Thanks.

Buy the 4-in-1 North American version of Gate of Thunder before anything else. It contains Gate of Thunder, Bomberman, Bonk's Adventure and Bonk's Revenge.

$100
Akumajou Dracula X

i cant vouch for the cable, but it should work

I think the cable has to be female, to male?
Male being where it inserts into the system, and female where it plugs into. I don't know,
the Japanese way of playing games, meant you sitting on the floor, usually. The American way of playing games meant you sitting in your living room sofa.
Their is lots of recomendations, but honestly, most of the good games are pricey, and forces you into $40 dollar ranger ( at one point the PSX games was $30 dollars new ).

Dracula X & Winds/Lords of Thunder

You think he means per game, or $100 for a bunch of games? If I had $100 to get a set of games that needed to last, I'd get a few different bits and pieces. I think I'd go...
PC Kid 2
Soldier Blade (although if stretched, I might go down to Super Star Soldier to free up some funds)
Pomping World
Puzznic
Street Fighter II'
Be Ball
Motoroader
Pacland
I reckon you might just about pull that off for loose HuCards. If any was left over, SonSon II maybe.

I just ordered the cable. Worst case I just tell Amazon it didn't work :)

Get these. http://www.retrogamecave.com/accessories.html They are a little more expensive BUT, they look really nice being black, and are 12 feet long. I have a few of em and I wouldn't buy any other.

Yup, that's the American way.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I meant $100 for a bunch of games, I'm going after loose games.
I'll pursue the big ones like Splatterhouse, Air Zonk, Blazing Lasers, etc some time later.

I just cancelled the Amazon order and went for the retrogamecave cable. 12 feet, now that's a gamer friendly cable. Thanks for the suggestion.

No problem. You will be pleased. Chuck ships out FAST, and his products are top notch.

Blazing Lasers is expensive?

Personally I would buy Dracula X before anything else.
So if you could have either 5 or 6 games or Dracula X I would go for Dracula X easily.
If you've got a PC Engine set-up capable of playing super CDs it's a near mandatory first purchase.
I'm guessing that's what Tatsujin meant also.

I love you, but I think he'd be happier with a bunch of games first. It's frustrating to have a new system and only ONE game!!!!
Disclaimer: Growing up poor will warp your sensibilities. At least, it did for me.

That said, Dracula X is definitely worth purchasing, at some point.
