I don't know... doesn't it kind of look like a cable box? Do you think this is fake??

Its legit(or real) alright. If I remember correctly, it plays regular North American HuCards.

Thanks to neogeoman, the enigmatic Vistar has been documented:

The Vistar 16 (Korean TurboGrafx-16) (http://nfg.2y.net/games/vistar/)

The ravengames site should have provided a link to nfg, but that might be expecting too much since they botched the name of the console, anyway.

There's one (minor) thing that that I haven't seen anyone mention about Vistar: the controller indicates that holding down RUN and SELECT at the same time will reset the console. Well, actually, I don't know Korean, but if you look at the text on the Vistar pad, it seems like a safe assumption :).

Personally, I love how TG-16 was recycled for the Korean market. Although they simply slapped stickers on North American HuCards (to cover the rectangular "TG-16" logo), at least they took the time to create a new look for the console itself. I think the Korean design holds up well today (that is, it doesn't look too dated -- it wouldn't look out-of-place alongside a comtemporary console). Of course, I love the the old-skool TG-16 look :) the best, but the Korean version is very kool. I'd love to get one of those badboys.

As for the game manuals... it looks like they slapped a sticker on the Keith Courage cover page, but the text was translated into Korean. If they took the time to translate the manual, why didn't they swap the Vistar logo onto the front cover as well? Bizarre.

The last page in the Korean KC manual advertises three games (their existence has yet to be confirmed):
01. Ninja Spirit
02. Air Zonk
03. Bonk's Adventure

Plus, neogeoman owns the following Vistar HuCards (so their existence is 100% confirmed):
04. Neutopia 2
05. Bloody Wolf
06. King of Casino
07. Super Star Soldier
08. Vigilante
09. Bonk's Revenge
10. Super Volleyball
11. Psychosis
12. Devil's Crush
13. Keith Courage in Alpha Zones

Pretty awesome! I hope we'll find out more about the Vistar (like the complete library of games available, if all the manuals were translated, etc. etc.)

Why is that surprising? The Turbografx-16 can be reset in the same way if I remember right.

Because North American, Japanese and PAL pads do not have the "RESET" function labeled on the pad itself. Only the Korean pads do. I'm not sure about the pads that came with Japanese & North American LaserActive modules... but I don't think those have the RESET function labeled either.
