There is absolutely nothing rare about the 2plus, but your starting price is very fair. Good luck. :)
-
well, it appears on ebay around 4 or 5 times a year, that's pretty rare.
-
Its not common to see on ebay thats for sure. Though the people looking for them are usually aware that they have to go through other channels to get them. Best of luck with the auction though, the fact that they arent so easily found should help you.

I hate to be a downy clowny, but I bought a 2+ from imparanoic some time ago and it arrived dead. I managed to coax it to live for about ten minutes before it died again and wouldn't come back. While trying to fix it I broke it further. Its currently sitting at a friends place who I hope can fix it (he's had it for a year almost).
So...while the price I paid was also good, very good, it was also broke, and I sort of wonder why a guy would have supply of cheap extra XRGBs if there wasn't something known to be wrong with them.

and he returns with a beautiful volley.....imparanoic, your ball...
-
I'm not trying to have a war with the guy or anything. I'm only mentioning this because the last time I saw the guy was when he sold me a broken example of the same thing he's selling today.
I agree with him that XRGBs are rare. Sure, they aren't as rare as other stuff, but you really do only see about a dozen of the 2s and 2+s a year on eBay, if that, and I can't find any place other than that to buy them. They've been out of production for many years now, and NCS (one of very very few English language, international sellers that ever carried them) was usually sold out on pre-orders alone. These units often go for more used than they did new because post-HDTV the demand is higher for them than it ever has been.
SuperDeadite can sometimes have a slightly myopic view of what is easy to find since he frequents the best shops on the planet on a regular basis. The other 6 billion people on Earth don't.

fair point and i got alittle carried away with how i worded my comment. I just felt you made a very valid point that he might want to comment on to set users at ease based on your prior expirience. Imparanoic, i apologize for my assumption.

Indubitably. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

LOL. They are on yahoo weekly. The 2plus is also usually quite cheap, as it's the least desirable of them all besides the 1 really. And with many people switching to the Framemeister, yahoo was flooded with 3s for like 6 months. Just because you can't be assed to look outside of ebay doesn't mean they rarely turn up.

After proxy fees, shipping, and a ever more brutal exchange rate, you're still looking at $300.

I spent 3,000yen on my DISPL. I was the only bidder. And DISPL>>XRGB series.

Yeah after I let out the word on the DISPL, it's become a hot item. Still a fair deal since there's also an XRGB-1 in there. But I'm pretty sure that's a France based proxy account, so good luck lol.

busted!

The thing is, you keep saying how cheap this stuff is, how easy it is to find, etc, but it just isn't like this for people who can't buy from Japanese shops, don't live in Japan, etc. Your constant input contributes nothing.
You have working stuff you got for nothing, congrats, I have a broken XRGB2+ I paid $90 for. That's what I have.
