Title: What kind of phone do you have?
Post by: storino03 on July 27, 2012, 07:41:03 AM
I have had Android since around 2010. I did try the iPhone from a friend's, but didn't like it too much, especially after having an iPod Touch 4G (8GB and 32GB) at different points. I do have an iPad yet--the first one--which sort of still holds up today. I use it to watch Netflix mainly.

My current phone is the Samsung Galaxy S3. I like it (and Android) a lot. Fits my needs.

What do you all have?

Samsung Omnia 7, with Windows Phone 7.5.  I really like it, perfect for me and my setup, and really intuitive.  I dislike Android, and I'd love to have Apples apps, but apart from the 8gb storage, I'm really happy I waited for it.  I'd only upgrade to something very similar with more space (hopefully 32gb), as I have used it for video, but it barely holds my music and apps.

Just received my new Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich installed.  It's my first ever smartphone.  I had one of those flip phones with the pull out antenna prior to this one.

I have AT&T therefore no Droids are available so i bought a Iphone 3GS from my friend for like 50 bucks. It's slow and kind of annoying. I would rather have a droid but can't.

AT&T has a lot of An(droid) phones, unless you're talking about the Motorola Droid line that is exclusive (name only) to Verizon.

I have the LG Voyager. I got it for the QWERTY keyboard which makes texting a breeze. I have an ipod Touch for internet browsing on the go (since most restaurants and hang outs have free wi-fi) and keeps my monthly payments down.

I have a cheap Samsung flip-phone. I used to have a Sony Ericsson T630 which served it's purpose until it started to wonk out. I thought about "invest" in an import of those cool
japanese flip phones - those running 'droid for the sake of conveniance. Turns out, yes, you can get one software unlocked and 3G will work etc. But it will hurt your wallet quite a bit. And no one (back then) was selling a completely unlocked phone so I would have to sent it someone else. Hardly ideal.

Right now, I'm wondering wether I should pick up a Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro or just wait and bide my time until I either find something I want or something I want gets made.
I'm not too happy with all the big-screened, flat kind of touchy phones we have right now.

Old, worn, cracked DroidX here. I'll be getting a Galaxy S3 soon though.

I think Smart Phones are retarded.

Who's with me

Not me! :) Getting a smart phone was damn near life changing. I can't imagine taking a dump without the ability to surf the net now. :D

I have wet dreams of what a *real* smart phone would be like.
I'm thinking like, a powerful little device with a fold/slide out keyboard. And there should be a dock with USB & HDMI connectivity, so that you can use it as your work computer for typing etc. Also, there should be booster packs for things like offering additional sound and video inputs/outputs. Naturally, the phone should run on a smart, proper operating system that fits well both for "phone use" and a work environment.

Remember when portable game console (with cartridges) and phone met? We got the Nokia N-Gage. Good concept, but ultimately the small screen, low quality graphics really hurt it.

I remember playing Snake on my old Nokia phone.  I wonder if the games have improved since then?

It is the best alarm clock, ever. I use it every day. Under the pillow. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

I went from a Droid to a Droid 4.  I need to have a keyboard on my phone, because it is a pain in the ass using a touch screen (aka - iphone is useless).

I use my phone A LOT, do most of my browsing of this site on there actually.  However, I don't ever game on my phone.

That's nice. Still, no dedicated tactile input devices on the actual phone : |

Nope it is missing that :)  I've had enough slide out phones though to know I probably won't go back for a while.  I always would get sand iin the sliders when camping or who knows what.  Then grind, grind, grind when opening and closing  Though my old HTC never gave out.  :)   Only one I ever loved was my OGO, but the one I had wasn't fully a phone.  That was more a sideways clam shell with full keyboard.  Best keyboard ever too.  I still have it even though I have no network it will work on.  I loved that thing.
