Title: Core Grafx II Super-CD Rom2 doujindance hucard issues
Post by: pcenginefx666 on August 14, 2012, 05:21:22 AM: Hey! Anyone have this RGB combination mod? When the Core Grafx II is coupled with the Super CD Rom unit, most of my hu cards wont play. When I separate the Core Grafx II and use it alone, they do play but some of my US cards wont play or are severly glitched.

I don't think this is just limited to his mod work. I had a region modded Coregrafx from D-Lite a long time ago that suffered the same issues also when used with a Super Cd-Rom unit. Seems like one of the prime offenders was Bonks Revenge or something, and I am pretty sure I noticed a few other games had issues also. It does sound though like you have even more issues going on. Maybe the modwork was damaged or came undone during shipping. Make sure the cards connector areas are cleaned well, other then that, you probably have a defective unit if running the Coregrafx separate does not fix the issue.

Post by: Duo_R on August 15, 2012, 12:20:55 PM: The Duo / Duo-R systems should be fine, but the PC Engine stand alone units can have problems when docked to the CD-Rom if the region mod boards don't have a reliable 5V connection.

If you have the screwdriver bit to open the unit and handy with a soldering iron shouldn't be hard to fix.

The copy of Burning angels that I had would also work fine in other systems. I could never find the problem since it only messed up with that one particular game. Oh and it was region modded using two 4558 ICs like this method here http://mmmonkey.co.uk/console/pce/region.htm
