Post by: hoobs88 on August 22, 2012, 04:14:49 AM
Anyone know if this is compatible with the Turbo Express?

Yes, the Express and GT are identical, other than the card slot. I made a video of a TE hooked to a PCE playing VS mode Bomberman '94 using a PCE brand link cable. The TurboVision, power supplies, etc are all interchangeable.

I was curious about this item too.  Is this a rechargeable battery pack or do you place AA size batteries inside?

If this is rechargeable, how much more play time does this allow vs. AA batteries?  I would imagine that these power pack batteries are old now and wouldn't have the full capacity anymore.  I had a few game gear and nomad rechargeable packs and they all totally dead.

I had a rechargeable battery back bitd that was compatible with TE, GB, GG and Lynx. I think that 3 hours was the most you could get out of a TE.

It is a rechargeable battery pack, but it would be dead now as the sega nomad ones are because the power packs all used Ni-CD batteries.

Is that just a plug in and play? I could easily make that and would last longer (and be cheaper) using lithium ion batteries. Just not as portable.

The best of both worlds would be to follow the Nomad style mod, where you open the official pack up, throw out the battery and replace with a Li-Ion.
