Title: "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind."
Post by: turboswimbz on August 25, 2012, 11:06:23 AM
Yeah Made one for the count... only seemed right to make one for Neil as well.

I really can't put into words how much he and the early Apollo stuff affected the world and affects the games we play now. (the vintage stuff too.)

Yeap, learned about it from my email news feature. RIP.

Well, now he's set foot on another noteworthy destination! The grave and what happens after... ;)

Surprised and sad that Neil is gone, but we all have to go sometime.  I wish I could do what he did.  I don't need to be the first but damn I'd like to set foot on something that's not Earth.

I think Neil Armstrong said that he was a parrot, in all of this.
You know just read his lines, and did the space hop kinda thing.

More or less he was.  He has a great back story.  He was actually chosen to be the leader and go out first becuase they thought he would do just that, and that he wouldn't get a huge ego afterwards.  Although the words he spoke were of his own creation.  But in the grand scheme of things Apollo 11 had no mission other than to land make a few photo ops, plant a flag, and return. It was strickly to get there first and get back safely.  All of the acutal moon research and exploring came in later apollo missions.

I'm pretty sure the events of Military Madness would never have occurred without that initial moon landing.
