Title: which PCE games would you turn into a board game?
Post by: Nando on August 30, 2012, 09:38:22 AM
For those days that the power is out. A little creative exercise.

I'll start.

I would make a Bonk board game. The board itself could be a mixture of the game of life like layout and maybe even monopoly to incorporate cards with skills, obstacles, side lvs etc. Obviously it would take a bit more fleshing out but that would be the gist of it.

Soldier blade board game.

Before going on your solo adventure you and your flight team fight off the evil alien forces. This would be a fast paced strategy game Warhammer 40k x Battleship.

I don't know how it'd work, but I'd want a Timeball board game.

Holy sh*t, I want BOTH Yo' Bro! and Camp California as board games.

Yo' Bro! should be mechanical BB/disc shooting thing (think Crossfire!) and Camp California should be a "space trading game" with a skateboard swapped in for the titular spaceship.

WE WILL MAKE IT WORK. (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgs.png)

Vasteel.  It might be doable since it did use 2D hexagon board to move pieces, build army, and strategies. The only thing missing from Vasteel board game would be the one on one battle.

CROSSFIRREEEEEE

YOU'LL GET CAUGHT UP IN THEEEE CROSS FIRREEEEEEE.

I would turn Dragon Half into a board game.  Definitely.

and Keith Courage would be an excellent board game.  You could have the town on one board, the underworld on the other, put some shops/stuff, and then go to the MAGICAL GAY RAINBOW ROBOT TRANSMOGRIFIER space, and run around the underworld killing shit.

Oh man I want to make a KC board game now.

I'll call it Keith Courage in Boardgame Zones

Crossfire is a board game version of Ballistix.

  I laugh cause it's true!

I would like a JJ and Jeff board game sprinkled with a little bit of Kato and Ken for purity sake.

Pretty much, lol.

Except, it had a sweet commercial.

Nectarsis/Military Madness was the first game that came to my mind.  That'd be pretty badass, actually.

Take Ballistix, subtract Shadow of the Beast setting, incorporate 80's California Suburbia in its placde, and VOILA! Yo' Bro!.

MORE GAMES SHOULD HAVE SLINGSHOTS.

Also, in Yo' Bro! the boardgame, you get penalized when you kill the neighborhood kids you're supposed to save.

I'd go with Bomberman. Not sure if real time or turn-based but should work :)

There are way to many suited to board games. All the sims pretty much. Populous would  be cool. A vertical gane based on Panic Bomber might work. Shelock Holmes could be extremely faithful, especially with vhs tape gameplay included.

Didn't they release a DVD version or something like that of Sherlock Holmes?

Yes, I have it and played it. If the DVD controls were a bit more fun-to-use -->responsive<-- (it's just the nature of navigating DVD menus) it would be AWESOME. OK, I'm exaggerating. It's not bad. Controls lag a bit, but the video/sound quality is 1,000x better than TG-CD or Sega-CD versions.

--> Sadly, the improved video quality reveals the "cheap" sets and costumes...the grainy, compressed video in TG-CD/Sega-CD actually made the segments more "authentic" and "genuine", if you can believe that.

I also have Dracula Unleashed on DVD (same deal as Sherlock Holmes), but I never finished it.

Yeah i would totally believe the grainy video and coloring would actually make it cooler.  I think we could make a better version of it though.  IN 3D And HD. basically all the D's.
