Title: Hyper Wars....anyone played?
Post by: pixeljunkie on January 24, 2006, 07:17:39 AM
PCECP shows it to need Jpn language knowledge to play....but all the screen shots and the shots on the back of the jewelcase show it to be predominantly english text. ??? What gives? The game looks awesome. Curious if its do-able with no japanese knowledge.

I can't remember whether Japanese is a 'sine qua non' requirement. From what I recall, it was an interesting strategy (simulation) game -- been a while since the last time I gave this one a spin. But if you're not comfortable with the genre, I suggest you stay away from it. Although you might enjoy it just for the neat T's soundtrack (Winds of Thunder, Sapphire...).

In the end, it's up to you and your wallet ;)

Thanks.

I do like the genre....I just don't want to have to refer to a faq for every menu. Just curious about how much english is actually in the game.

They might've listed it as Japanese-required simply because its a Sim game. But many, like Neo Nectaris don't require much if any knowledge of Japanese.
