Hey all,
I've recently purchased a PC Engine Duo with a Turbo Tap, but the Turbo Tap cord is so short that it really cramps my style. I was wondering what some suggestions would be. The best deals that I've found so far are as follows:
6-foot PC Engine controller extension cords for $1.84 each + shipping:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10215&cs_id=1021501&p_id=534&seq=1&format=2
Blog site where I found the above:

6-foot TurboGrafx-16 controller extension cords for $3.75 each shipped:

I plan on having 6 of each. (One for console-to-Turbo-Tap and 5 for each of my five controllers.)

1 extension from system to tap or 5 extensions from tap to controllers should be sufficient. 6 extensions seems like overkill.
I personally have 5 of the monoprice ones.

Some games will have issues if you put the extention between the tap and the TG16/PC Engine

Really? Do you have any information as to which games may have issues?
I've seen some "official" ones for sale, but for $20-30. Would they have problems?

Buy one extra controller or remove the cord from a worn-out pad. Use Nat's guide to replace the tiny Tap cord with the longer controller cord:

If you can't spare a controller to sacrifice, put the tiny Tap cord on your old controller and always use a monoprice extension cable with that controller.
This is the way to go. A Tap with a long cord almost eliminates the need for individual controller extensions. Taps and six-button controllers have problems with extension cords, even the official NEC TG16 extension. Search to find past discussions.

I ended up having to get one off ebay for significantly higher price than the ones listed here, as they all wanted like $30+ to ship a cable to sweden.. But i still got it for noticably cheaper than the cables actually marketed as PC-E extension cables.. So it was my best option. Finding them here in sweden proved very difficult.
This is the one i got, its 12 feet, and he also has 6 feet cables for a little less. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370631754893

Ive used the monoprice ones and have had no issues whatsoever with my 2/3/6 button controllers.
That Turbo tap mod is not a bad idea,,, O:)

I've never had a problem using an extension from the system to the Tap. EVER!

Sometimes it works. I never had a problem until one day a buddy and I got halfway through Double Dragon II and things started getting glitchy. I attributed the occasional malfunctions to my controller, until a few minutes later we were both in full control of both characters, as if the Tap had been removed and a single controller swapped in its place.
