Title: Pokemon TCG. Anyone play ?
Post by: munchiaz on September 19, 2012, 08:41:27 PM
So i havent played the pokemon TCG since first edition. Its been along time since i played. I used to play magic the gathering. But i recently sold my cards to fund some game purchases. I wanted to play a new TCG, and since i really enjoy the pokemon universe, i thought it would be my best choice. So i just started buying cards for it this week. So far its pretty awesome. They even have a online client you can download that lets you play with random people and friends.

Cool thing about the online version is. All new starter decks and packs come with redeem codes. you put the redeem code in, and it allows you to play with that starter deck. If its a pack it gives you a pack to open in the game.

So long story short. I was just wondering if any of you guys played pokemon TCG ?

I think it's like MTG right, where you get cards for like wood or whatever?  I never really learned how to play that, but my card game of choice would be YuGiOh.  I played GX tag force 2 on the PSP a few years back, and I kind of got it.

My friend recently convinced me to get some Marvel Attax cards, and while the art is nice, the game blows dicks.

played that back in high school, still have that crap somewhere.
fun game, personally prefer it to MTG or pokemon, though all are at least fun.

honestly, i think the reason to play one game over the other isn't the game itself, but the people who like it.
my roommate plays MTG and works at a game shop that sells that stuff, and all the other guys are total toolbags.

on the flipside though, yugioh...

As far as the cards are concerned, I totally get why people would collect them, but as far as playing the game is concerned, a video game format is the way to go.  Cost you way less money, and you have an AI to practice with.

Pocket monster card game was already made digital, into a GBC game. Also their is a couple of card series, in China that features a scanning code on it. I seriously do not care at all anymore.
They ruined everything for pkmn players when they cut us off, from the gba generations.
