I've been thinking about this fighting game I used to play in the arcade. Can't remember the name but would like to own the console version if available. It was a cartoony fighter and one of the characters had a chainsaw. You could chop off the enemies limbs and finish them by taking off their head. Please help!!
Can you name this game, and is there a console game available of it??
-
Time Killers! I think it was on SNES and Genesis.
-
sweet that sounds right!
Have you played the console version?
-
I'm looking for the SNES version but can't seem to even locate info on it... Any hook ups here. It was cool when I was a kid, but is now listed in many forums as the worst game of all time...

Its Time killers by Strata, part 2 is Blood Storm.
Time Killers was ported over to Genesis by Black Pearl. Its not a bad port, all the basic stuff was kept in,along with all the moves. The last boss is there but the background, hell,is cut out.Audio was pretty much all there, just lower quality.
Note if you ever get a supergun and mess with jamma stuff: This game board is finiky. There are not many out there fuly working anymore. Its is very acceptible to shock, and breaks easy.I have 2 dead boards, both revisions of the game. I just won another one, tested and working on ebay sunday, crossing my fingers it survives the trip from Texas,as the other two were killed in shipping.

About a year ago there was a debate about sucky games on here, and most people here really hated Time Killers. I defended it,and I think I was the only one......

Your best bet if you want to go down memory lane is to hit mame on this one.You might be pleased with the genesis version but really the arcade is the best, and unless you feel fine about blowing $30-40.00 on dead arcade game pcbs, mame is there to back you up on this one.

sorry I don't know what mame is... explain.

MAME = Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator
In a nutshell, mame will let you play arcade games on your computer.

If your a noob to emulation get mame32. It hasa windows interface.Just unzip it and placed zipped roms in the rom folder. To run a game like Time Killers at full speed I think you are required to have at least a 1.2 ghz Pentium 3

So a SNES version doesn't exist??
-
Nope. Back in mid-94 when Black Pearl was working on the Genesis Time Killers THQ was working on a Snes version, but they canned it along with alot of other projects. This was probably a good thing, because if you take a look at THQ games from that time period, you will be hard pressed to find a good one among them.
Hunt for Red October,The Rocketeer, and the ultra censored, crappy missing weapons, characters, and graphics arcade port of Pit-Fighter.
Most of their games were of this calibur, sucking hard.
Black Pearl finished Time Killers in late 94 for the Genesis, but the game got shelved. It finally got released during 96 with some effort by Data East USA and used Akklaim made genesis cases. Some even used the cart shells from Akklaim. You could tell ebcause Akklaim had their logo on the back of cart shells and molded into the cases they made.Basically they trew it together to get it out there. It was advertised by Data East along with the port of OutRunners on Genesis and some other cart.
If you look on ebay you will find a Genesis cart, but its getting harder to find oen complete in the case with booklet. Theh game is uncommon as it is because of its small release and it has a cult following.
Its also funny because this game was accused of cashing in on Mortal Kombats blood gig,but it was infact Time Killers that came out first,by a few months, back in 92.Not just that but the game played way better then MK1. There was actually some combos, and way more moves. If youd like me to,I can take pics of the genesis version running, and the arcade game running so you can compare.I have one of my 2 non-workings that will run a demo fine as long as I dont start a game, and as long as the audio pcb is disconnected.

I'd like that. Also there is a megadrive version I saw. Any info on that. I currently do not own a sega system, but wanted to pick one up. Genesis, Genesis mega drive or Dreamcast. Any advice on that. My main reason for getting a DC would be to play worms armageddon, but it is available for PS1 too. hmmm.....

Bloodlust Software's Timeslaughter > Time Killers
-
Bah,Bloodlust did not make Time Killers.Their crap came out a couple years later too. They made a couple emus too,and a couple of things for Troma.I do believe they made Callus.

My new Time Killers pcb works, which is amazing considering it had been in what seems a house fire of some sort.It had taht black crap all over it taht is caused by smoke.I replaced the revision board, and sound board and main M68000 cpu,and cleaned it a little.Anyway using aR2N you get a kinda RF like picture, and using a Jrok you will either get a perfect picture,or a black and white one or something equally screwed up.The game pcb uses a slightly off video sync signal which does not like certain tvs.
