It's that time again - welcome to another year of Secret Santa! Here's da rules:
1. If you have a history of failing to follow through in a timely manner, please don't waste everyone's time; do us all a big favor and refrain from signing up. 2. Signups will run from now 'til November 1st, at which time I'll match y'all up and send everyone their intended recipient's wish list. 3. To make life easier for me, follow the format below when sending me your name, shipping address, wish list, etc. Keep in mind that the more options your Santa has, the better the chances of him (or her) finding a good deal in the time allotted. 4. Value of your gift(s) should be in the $20-30 range - real value and not bloated OMG R@R3!! eBay value. 5. Gifts shall be mailed by December 10th at the latest, but not too early either (this ain't Secret Thanksgiving Pilgrim). If for some reason you won't be able to meet that time frame, please let me know so that alternate plans can be made and nobody ends up with nothing under their tree but moldy old fruitcakes. 6. This is important and bears repeating: don't sign up if you won't follow through. Failure to hold up your end of the bargain will result in shunning, mockery, and a sound beating from Rimmer's holowhip. 7. Most importantly - this is supposed to be fun, dammit!
For extra holiday cheer, one random participant will be selected to receive coal (http://pcengine.co.uk/HTML_Games/Magicoal.htm) in their stocking and another participant will get a copy of the Turbo Legacy Poster (http://www.cafepress.com/pcenginefx.260707543). If you don't want (or already have) either of these goodies, please note accordingly on the form below.
Also, let me know if you don't want to shop for me since it won't exactly be secret.
Sign up sheet format for when you PM me your list -
Forum Alias: Last Year's Recipient (if applicable): Shipping Name/Address: Condition (i.e. - complete, boxed, mint, loose, etc.): Wish List: Entered in the poster drawing? (yes/no): Entered in the game drawing? (yes/no):

Just to make it clear, you PM me your wish list and contact info.; don't post it in this thread unless you're comfortable with everyone knowing your address and that you want nothing but Wonder Momo and Energy.
Also, please hold off on your wish list submittal unless you're certain that nothing will change over the next month; it's a lot easier for me to keep everything straight if there's only one sent my way. The only thing needed at first is your intention to sign up, which can be done by PM or just by posting in this thread.

Is "wish list" just that? Stuff you want? Anything, or must be turbo related? Can i just say "surprise me" if i dont want to ask for something specific? Sorry for the noob Q's but i wasnt around here for this last year, but love the idea. Thanks

Is "wish list" just that? Stuff you want? Anything, or must be turbo related?
Turbo/PCE is preferable since it's what pretty much everyone here knows, but anything videogame related is fine. Just don't fill your list with boring stuff (nobody wants to send socks) or random stuff that few will know what it is or where to get it.
Can i just say "surprise me" if i dont want to ask for something specific?
I wouldn't think that'd be a good idea, as you'd most likely end up with something you didn't really need or want. It's fine if you narrow it down a bit - in past years there's been people that asked for stuff like "any Turbografx CD game except ______" or "any PCE RPG except ______".

So I got a pm back from necro... To give some background, this is what I sent him for my "wish list"
"something/anything hand made and turbo inspired. Seriously, I don't care if somebody writes "bonk" on a napkin (well a bit more creative than that). Just knowing that a forum member put blood sweat and tears into it will be gift enough for me. I can buy any game I need, something handmade is a bit harder to come by and easy for the gifter."
He suggested I post this to see if anybody wants to volunteer to be my Santa in order to not stress somebody out that may not be very creative. (Which I can totally understand because even my stick figures don't look like stick figures). I don't need a masterpiece or anything, I just want to see what somebody comes up with and it will obviously be a total surprise.
So who has a creative bone in their body?
If nobody wants to, I understand and I'll provide a more traditional wish list.

Whats that?
It's a small sect that follows the principles of our liege, Leviathan. For various reasons, I am forbidden from presenting nice gifts to people. Instead, I am encouraged to over-promise and under-deliver when it comes to gift-giving. I don't want to upset anyone here, so it's best for me not to participate. Only three people asked for le Gotz last year and nobody asked for one this time. Perhaps y'all already have a copy? You better, dammit!
For comparison's sake, the most requested title last year was Paradious (6 requesters), followed by Aeroblasters, Darkwing Duck, Final Soldier, and Image Fight (5 requesters each).

Well, last year everyone wanted to know who their Secret Santas were as soon as they opened their gifts. Who is receiving this and what it actually is are still a mystery.

Nah - if anyone can't figure out their Santa's identity, they can ask here. They only need to be gift wrapped (or a note on the shipping box saying to not open before x-mas) so the recipient doesn't confuse it with some other package and accidentally open it early.

I think my return address will totally give it away for my recipient this year (Kind of like last year's too! ;) ) but I'm going to still try to leave a slight hint and gift wrap mine all up.
NO OPEN TILL XMAS!!
I hope we get lots of pics and videos of the big Xmas openings this year.

It's the thought that counts turbokon. Not all of us are Van Gogh.
To my SS. I shipped out your gift last week. Instead of standard ground I sent it air mail. That should get it through Customs faster, but Canada Post is notorious for charging more money for different delivery standards even though the delivery will be the same. Basically, with Canada Post, you have two options. Slow, or tomorrow. Either way, it cost me an extra $4 bucks to send it.

My package arrived late last week, and it KILLED me to put it under the tree and wait until Christmas morning, but I have to say that it was cool doing so, because the anticipation reminded me of the Christmases of my childhood. I got up this morning and tried to wait as long as I could to open it up (I was trying to wait until my wife got up, but she didn't) but a man can only kill so much time by doing chores, so it was time. I had not one, but two presents from fellow PCEFXers arrive this week, and they both went under the tree for xmas morning opening.
First, Secret Santa:
I know who my SS is, but I'll leave him anonymous unless he wants to out himself.
The box. Damn that's a lot of stamps! And check out the Christmas-themed packing tape! And are those Sparky stickers? I used them in my secret santa-ing this year, as well.
3 presents, all wrapped! Let's assume that the two smaller items are turbobs, but what about the bigger present? There could be anything in there! I have my theories, but let's see what happens...
Sweet, interestingly sweet, and super sweet! Knight Rider Special, still sealed! (Not for long). I know the game gets panned by most everybody, but I was addicted to that show when I was a kid, so I think the game is cool just for nostalgic reasons. Gomola Speed is not a game with which I am familiar, so that will be interesting to check out. The Brothers Duomazov hated it, but theirs seems to be the minority opinion, and I love action puzzle games. My theory about the big box was wrong, but in a good way. The list I submitted may have been a "want" list, but controller extension cords were more of a "need" item, as every time my buddy comes over for some turbo time, we practically have to sit in each others laps. I actually forgot that I asked for these, which makes them even cooler. Definitely an awesome gift! Thanks very much, Mr. Secret Santa!
I also received a little bit of packagey goodness from Opie, but since it was so close to Christmas, I decided to torture myself and put in under the tree next to my SS package.
I've already decided to go out on a high note by never entering a raffle again. (I'll still raffle stuff off, though). You can't tell in the picture, but the jewel case didn't survive the trip, which I took as an excellent excuse to put the game into a new jewel case with a white tray. I'll definitely be digging into this game sometime in the next few days. Thanks again to both Opie and The Old Rover for this one!
Chris

Chris Bucci loves Gamola Speed, so if it is good enough for him then it was good enough for my recipient. And there isn't anyone on this forum that doesn't like opening brand new sealed Turbob. It's not a common occurrence and I sent it assuming it would be opened and enjoyed. Merry Christmas, Chris. :)

Necro, thanks again for organizing a successful Secret Santa this year. Looks like everybody made out great. I guess now, we need to call out anybody that DIDN'T come through!! Hope there weren't many (or any) that sent something out and got nothing in return. We'll need to burn those members in effegy!
Anyway, instead of a list of games, I had asked that my santa send me something Turbo related and hand made.
This is what arrived. I'm actually stoked about these because I can use them as bookends for a shelf of games that isn't quite full yet. Some wooden model hueys and manuals. Thanks SWIM!!

Santa-Chany sent me copies of Legendary Axe II and Sinistron, so score for me! Thanks, Chany!

Yeah galam they are meant to be just that, if you noticed yet the black front fits the exact size of a cd/hu card case and the white backs are the same size as a hu-card. So you can stack up against them for those shelfs that are just not quite full. Also I hope those graphics stay on, I was having a hard time finding a product to seal them. :-k

The two cartridges at the top were on my Secret Santa list. The remaining 8 were bonuses. Hydlide I played as a kid. I'm not looking forward to reliving that nightmare. ](*,) Knight Rider was damaged in shipping, but it's just the outer case. Nothing a little glue won't fix. :) I've heard great things about XEXYZ too.
Sorry about Knight Rider. The box I had for the 2 Secret Santa games had the extra space, and those 8 extra games were duplicates that I had picked up a while back in a NES lot, and they weren't doing anything for me. (That why a couple of them still need to be cleaned up a bit, because I ran out of time. ) I had seen an earlier post of yours that said that you only had about 15 games, so I thought, "What the heck. Send 'em to FiftyQuid. He may like 'em." I actually haven't played all of them yet, and for the ones that I have played, it has been a while, but I do remember really enjoying Solar Jetman for sure, and I hope that you'll enjoy it as well. Of course RC Pro Am and Mike Tyson's Punchout should be enjoyed by you, since they're both great games. Anyway, Merry Christmas again!

FiftyQuid's new NES games....
ASIDE: Has anyone here beaten Top Gun NES? I don't think I have. I may have, but it was only once or twice, if I did. That game was challenging for me.

No worries about the Knight Rider. You can't control the Post Office and how they handle packages. Besides, I fixed it up with some Gorilla glue, and lacquer thinner. Looks great now (pic forthcoming). All 10 NES games are greatly appreciated! My NES library has grown quite a bit. I'll take a pic and post here as well. :)
@esteban - The Top Gun I received is actually Top Gun: The Second Mission. I didn't even know they made a sequel!

I have to disagree, but maybe I'm still bitter about wasting $5 to rent it for the entire weekend and not having anything to play.
Here's the 'fixed' copy of Knight Rider. I think it came out pretty nice considering. (http://imageshack.us/a/img831/1240/img20121227132620.jpg)
The bonus? It even plays! (http://imageshack.us/a/img600/8953/img20121227132809.jpg)
Here's my entire NES collection. I'm up to 25 games. That's more than I ever had as a kid. (http://imageshack.us/a/img703/4091/img20121227133011.jpg)
Oh, and here's a little Boxing Day gift to myself. For $99, I couldn't pass it up. Even though the failure rate is something like 80%. Nothing a 3 year extended warranty from Best Buy (for $30) won't fix. 8) (http://imageshack.us/a/img248/2787/img20121227132951.jpg)

Götzen - Deiner -> in götze change the t in German to the English d. the n is plural - god(e)s, Deity, or idol. Dein is your. here however in the compound it means more like worshiper. so think of the game title as Idol worshiper - However the word is almost always used in the negative connotation, as in false idol worship i.e idolater. In the game you are taken by a cult of idolaters from which you must escape.

Probably $20-$25.
True. Goat didn't say they were complete, though, so it still could've been within range with loose games (Out Run - $9 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/PC-Engine-OutRun-Out-Run-HUCard-game-Japan-Turbo-Grafx-/310508580069?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item484bc0ece5)).

Wow. Great prices. I have limited options were I am. Especially for the list Arkhan asked for. The best price I found Zeroigar for was $35. ;) I didn't include shipping within my limit. Shipping isn't part of the gift.
