it looks like game express is cleaning out the last of their Duo stock.
i just got their last copy of Buster Bros and a Duo pad for $10 each and they already removed Hit the Ice and Jack Nicklaus Turbo Golf CD from their catalog.
If you need any brand new Duo pads or still haven't picked up John Madden Football, LoT or Prince of Persia now is the time to do so. they are all brand new and $10 each.
www.gameexpress.com (http://www.gameexpress.com/)
do a search for "tduo"

I bought a Duo controller from there a couple years ago, it was a site I've had my eyes on for many years (I also bought KoF'R2 there like six years ago). I believe this site was actually selling Dynastic Hero before for an incredibly cheap price, but it was listed as "Sold Out".
-
Thanks for the heads up vestcoat - I've already placed my order :)
-
Good find, I ordered a couple of extra Duo pads.
-
cool, you guys should get an email back from them within 48 hours.
i hope they still have all of your stuff. when they say "limited quantity" they mean it! Buster Bros. disappeared from their catalog right after my order went through.
-
Also placed an order with them. Looks like they are out of LoT but got the others I wanted. Five hours after I ordered, they sent an email back to me saying they already shipped! That's damn fast.
-
Dammit...............my entire order got canceled.......grrr....everything I ordered now out of stock. :(
-
Order arrived today. A Turbo Tap, a couple of Duo Pads, LoT, and PoP. Game Express is a little weird, they called me Friday afternoon and said LoT was sold out so I said, "fine go ahead and ship the rest anyway". Then I noticed today that they still charged me for LoT. Was about to call them up and gripe about it when the UPS guy arrived, and LoT was in there. Go figure.
I almost ordered John Madden Football, but ultimately decided to pass (no pun intended). I played the heck out of TV Sports Football back in the day, but I don't know if I could stomach an old football game nowadays. TV Sports Football certainly hasn't aged well. Anyone played Madden on the Duo? Good game?

I think Madden on the Duo is quite good actually. Compared to TV Sports Football it's ungodly good, but even in it's own right, it's very good and definitely worth the investment.

So you're the one who snagged the last LoT? :D
My package hasn't come yet, but I got an email saying that LoT and PoP were out of stock. Then, like an hour later, they sent another mail saying they managed to find PoP. Now I'm wondering what's actually in the box they sent me. :P

I’m not surprised they're somewhat disorganized with their Duo gear. The stuff I got was all new but definitely had the look of being kicked around a warehouse for the last decade. There was some scuffed shrink-wrap and one small crack in a jewel case.
-
Yeah, the stuff I received also looked pretty worn. At first I was a little concerned because I had a problem with Game Express a month back sending me a reshrinkwrapped Rogue Squadron II for GC. I guess it was a return, and they just shrinkwrapped it and sold it to me as "new". I wasn't too happy about that and considered never buying anything from them again, but the game disc was perfectly fine, so I decided to let it slide (unless it happens again, then I'm definitely finished with GE).
The Tap and Duo pad boxes were all rather scruffy, but when I opened them up everything was definitely brand new. I had to stock up on the Duo pads because (a) my nephews are getting old enough to play games with me, and I am looking forward to finally having someone to do multiplayer stuff like Bomberman, etc. :D and (b) I hate playing with someone else's used controller. Maybe I'm weird, but if I ever pick up an old system that I didn't buy new, I always try to locate some brand new controllers to use with it. I know how funky my own controllers get , and I don't eat Cheetos and so forth while gaming so... I don't mind dealing with my own funk, but I draw the line at touching other people's funk, know what I mean?
I'm still unsure on Madden Duo Football. I played a lot of TV Sports Football, but I think we all played some crappy games when we were younger just because we couldn't get our hands on anything else. I like football and all, but baseball is about the only sport that I can enjoy in video game form anymore. Well, except for stuff like the Mario sports line, but those aren't very serious. Speaking of football, I broke out an old copy of Super Play Action Football for SNES today. My god, that game is poor (and like TV Sports Football, I used to play that thing to death as a teenager). It was funny to play because you can see all the little touches that say, "yeah this was made by Nintendo". Little sound effects and graphical styles that just scream the same teams or people that made stuff like Super Punchout. Football with a Japanese flavor, that is to say not very good. I think American football, FPS, and RTS are a few genres the Japanese will never be good at. Yeah, yeah Tecmo Bowl, but I think that was a fluke. :P

I’ve had two transactions with Game Express and I’m pretty happy with them. the TG16 stuff was a little scuffed, but still brand new, dirt cheap and 13 years old.
that does sucks about how they re-shrinkwrapped your game.
I guess I’ve officially crossed the line from being a Duo player to a Duo collector---I purchased Madden Duo Football and I hate sports games; football games in particular.
(well, Blades of Steel kicks ass and some baseball games are OK…)

When I ordered from them last time (which was a long time ago... and vestcoat might have been the one who told us then... a few months ago) I got 2 new DUO controllers and they were minty fresh. I assumed everything they had was minty fresh... but I didn't place an order this time around (though I was tempted to get more DUO controllers).

I've been buying games from Game Express over five years, and this is the first time I've had a serious issue with them. Well, actually they also have a bad habit of reselling "not for resale" items. I got a "not for resale" Sonic Party (or whatever that Sonic party game for DC was called) a few years back. Also got a not for resale version of Super Smash Bros. Melee. I guess they're pulling them from system bundles and reselling them separately, which is a bit shady to me. Their occasional deals are too good to pass up though, and they have NOS that a lot of other vendors don't. :?
I have very particular tastes when it comes to sports games. The more arcadey the better, which is why I like the Mario sports game or stuff like the Blitz series from Midway. The games with all the stat tracking, front office management, TV-style presentation, official player rosters and endorsements, etc. are a big turnoff for me.

Finally got my order from Games Express. The games looked pretty beat up, but that was because the shrinkwrap was all frayed and scratched up. After taking off the shrink, the cases and everything looked good. A few case cracks here and there, but nothing major considering the age of the stuff.
SimEarth was the worse of the bunch. There was some tape or something sticky on the side and somehow melted to the shrinkwrap which left a yellow nasty goo on the case. Should be able to clean it off with goo gone or something... or just replace the case entirely.
Overall, not disappointed!

If you're inclined, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the soundtrack. I was disappointed , myself, since I had played SimEarth on a computer with a stinky sound card and the Duo version wasn't much better (as far I could remember, anyhow).

As some posters on this board know, while I am a platformer/RPG guy, I must say that as far as sports games go, TV Sports Basketball is the greatest basketball game. Ever. Period. -Doom
-
I'm well aware of your love for TV Sports Basketball, Doom :D . In fact, you're the only person to ever get me interested in the game and I can appreciate it a little more now thanks to you.

I played it a little bit over the weekend. Wasn't really impressed. I think only one track played the entire time playing the game, so I'm not sure if there are any other tracks. That one track was pretty forgettable (ambient/moody style), but I guess it's decent for a game like SimEarth.
The things that hurt SimEarth the most is the amount of loading and waiting between selections. Seems that whatever calculations/simulations it does, it chokes the CPU.
-
The Duo version of SimEarth is actually the only version I can stand. :)
-
Why did TTi bother with SimEarth? I would have much rather have seen Populous over here! I guess SimEarth was a "recognizable" brand and they thought it would sell OK, considering that the DUO didn't have any simulation games in its library. I actually like SimEarth (I primarily played it on the computer, though), but I wish TTi passed on it in favor of something else. Oh well, at least it is better than Magical Dinosaur Tour :).

Don't diss Magical Dinosaur Taur, you could've probably figured out that I like that game.
