Title: Thoughts on Kaze Kiri
Post by: munchiaz on December 16, 2012, 05:41:00 PM
Recently i have looked up some footage of this game, and it looks really awesome. Reminds me a bit of the SNES version of ninja warrior. What do you guys think of this game, and is it worth its hefty price tag?

Personally, I love it the control, parallax, and pure atmosphere are wonderful.

To sum it up great ost plenty of moves to pull off but it can be repetitive.

I love it, but there's no way I'll pay the going rate or even the cheap rate. Try before you buy.

Incredible nice cinematics.

Its shallow but its beautiful. When it came out it seemed like there was almost nothing being made for PC Engine anymore that wasn't menu based so it was a huge thrill.

The price isn't great, but its a much better deal than like...Dynastic Hero US, for example.

Bernie thinks it is a good game,
therefore he reserves it for tight times.

I have a lot of games I expect to be good so I wont play right away so I have something to play later. I want to get Kaze Kiri but the price is a bit high...

It's a pretty cool ninja game but the levels are very repetitive. Not much replay value.

NOT WORTH IT!

Yes, I am bitter for paying too much $$$ many, many years ago.

AND I LIKE SPARTAN X (Kung Fu). Kaze Kiri can suck my left one.

Its worth one play through. But honestly after that you'd have to be pretty bored with all your other games to keep going back often. It's def no Shinobi 3 or anything, and def not worth the asking price.

Very few (no?) games are worth $100+ in terms of gameplay value alone.  Not even Dracula X - sure it's awesome and tons of fun, but it's not 10x as much fun as something cheap like Bonk's Revenge.

Dracula X has far far more replay value then many games in its price range though. When you drop 100 bucks on Dracula X, you don't ever really regret it. You drop it on Kaze, well yeah, the feeling wont be the same because the game doesn't have that much replay value.

I'ld pay 1500 bucks for a drac x, if that would be the only way to be able to play it. way too good it is.

I keep thinking about picking this up but judging by most of the replies it's not worth the price tag.

Kaze Kiri is a pretty good game, but yeah, for that price, I don't know... it is on the short-ish side, and replay value is questionable.  But the game itself is quite fun, while it lasts.

I'd say burn it before you buy it. Or better yet emulate it. The $100 can be spent better on a everdrive.

I think if you are a very busy person it might be worth it for you. Not everyone has 40+ hours to pump into every single game they buy. Sometimes a Love and Destroy or an Astra Superstars makes a nice break from Super Robot Wars and Mario Galaxy. I think I'm probably not the only one here with dozens of "good value" games on the shelf that I'll never live to complete.

And many of the people with $100 to drop on a game this old are rather busy, unfortunately.

Kaze Kiri is a top 10 PCE game for me. This is at least %75 because of the graphics. I also like the sound FX and the way the dude just flies all over the f*cking place. From a gameplay perspective Ninja Spirit is 10x better so...make sure you have that first. :)

I'm very tempted ..Very tempted indeed! Been looking up videos and info on this title and I gotta say I really like it so far .. Might have to test out an iso on my Wii or Xbox first before I pay 100 plus dollars for this game ..

there is a little bit of replay value.  game does technically have 4 endings.  really just 2 endings with 2 variations, but hey it's something...
