I've heard about these old text-adventure games for the Famicom Disk System called Shin Onigashima, Time Twist, and Yuyuki. Apparently they are obscure Nintendo classics that have extremely limited info on the internet. Not even HG101 has articles on them!
They look kind of cool, so I've decided to start studying some kana again. But can somebody give me any kind of info about these games? I would love to get them if I ever get a Famicom at all, but I need to know what I am getting into.

Anybody have any opinions on these games?

I know Episode 22 of Chrontendo goes over Shin Onigashima (Sorry, I can't point you to the exact part in the video)

Really can't tell you much about the later two.

I've never played any of them for a long time due to the language barrier. They're all menu-based text adventures. Shin Onigashima is a mishmash of Japanese folk tales (Momotarou, Kintarou, etc.) whereas YuuYuuki is a take on the Chinese Saiyuuki (journey to the west) fable. So you might not get far in those games unless you have a bit of insight into said fables.

Would merely learning the tales and kana be enough to play?
