It's pretty cool.

The intro trailer from awhile ago was pretty hilarious.   Big demon shows up and f*cks the dude up.

I got banned though.  I think they found out I was round-eye.

I don't have a PS3, but if I start seeing more Wizardry like games for it I may just pick one up for that purpose. :) Its starting to sound like 2013 isn't such a bust after all.

Yeah I just saw that.  I hadn't paid much mind to it after getting banned.  Guess they banned my email from getting newsletter updates too -_-

lol

I will be trying the Round Eye open beta tonight!

Screw FFXIV's closed alpha.  Wizardrryryyrryjaorijrdoijdroi

The PS3 game has been out for awhile btw, its digital download.  15 monies.

Played a little bit of it this morning, it reminds me of a harder version of FFXI at least the interface does. Permadeath included. Might play some more after I mess about some more with HUC...

I picked a mage.  Slow start, but I like it.   I've only played a bit as I was finishing up Inferno for that MSX contest.   I am level 3.5.  I get slaughtered in the sewers by some assclown NPC alot.

All this talk of PS2 and PS3 amuses me. I still have my original 5.25 floppy copy for PC and my C64 TAPE version of the game.

Wizardry is so damn cool...awesome game.

Yeah.  It's a great series.  Too bad round-eye gamers hate it now and cry so much that they only gave us a digital release of the latest game.

oh cool, some people here are playing this. Its become my new obsession, if anyone wants to group up sometime let me know. I have a small upstart guild, trying to get some good non pk people to join up.

I was into the first Wizardry for NES, I had even bought that SirTech Guidebook for it (it had really great artwork - I regretted later selling it and the game to a game trading store though). I dunno how many hours I put into that game, but I might've gone over 100 I'd say! First I rented it and managed to beat it, but I got hooked enough to where I bought it down the road and went through it again with different character combinations, etc. I went on to buy Wizardry 5 for SNES, but man, I hated that shit and that pretty much ended my interest in series... Anyway, you gotta respect it for being a major influence on early console RPGs and I think in general. Hm, after googling, I just learned that Sir-Tech closed in 2001, eh ?

This looks pretty neat.  I'll give it a shot once the US version comes out.

They're playing it right now. I think that's the link you want.

The US version is out already, dork.

I think I'll take a stab at this. I've always put Wizardry right up there with Might and Magic and Ultima. It's arguably a more rounded game in some ways as well.

It's not so much that it's more rounded.

It's just less-elaborate, and hasn't changed much since the first.

I mean, there's still Gilgamesh's Tavern, and everything.

That's comforting. I'll try it out this weekend. I wish I could at work today but, you know....work.

In all honesty, if you don't really like interacting with the human race in video games, just play the PSN game.

I liked Wizardry Online when I beta'd and will probably get on it again once im done being balls deep into Ultima Online, but the problem is, it really focuses on having friends.

I was a wizard.   I blew shit up.   It was kind of OP.

Until you stop fighting zombies, at which point it is a f*cking mess to solo.

Do the zombies drain like they used to? I hated that, made the game that much more harder.

No.  The zombies are just slow moving retards that you blow up and easy-XP-Gain from.

It was to the point where I was carpet bombing an entire room with my eyes closed.

Then I went somewhere else and got teabagged by everything, lol

Might pick it up again this weekend. Nothing worse than getting spanked by hordes of monsters.

I'm still leaning towards Ultima.

Wizardry Online has great visual appeal, but isn't anything you can't experience solo with a party of 6 custom made dudes.

Interesting...it seems Wizardry is a lot like Everquest. Free to play and free to download. Their money comes from upgrades it appears.

If you can't tell, I'm not a big online gamer sort. Wizardry will be my first first serious stab at it. Unless you count playing Duke Nukem3D online with a few pals back in the mid 90's...

Yeah they are doing free to play.

I rerolled my wizard and did the beginning stuff.   It's the exact same as the beta, but it seems like some of the monsters aren't as deadly.

It still sucks that window mode is bugged and doesn't work.

How long as it been an issue? Is is something that I can expect will be fixed by the time I sign up?
