I have been laid out for close to four days now with this f*cking "flu," no headaches or runny nose, but my rear end seems to be taking after a gushing fire hydrant in NYC during a hot summer.
Both my kiddos had it, luckily my wife has been immune so far. Anyone else been this bad?
You all keep safe, wear them JP style masks and watch out for symptoms that feel like food poisoning at first. At least that's one of the strains of this funky virus going around.

Ermagherd!!!! Screw the flu. Ive been lucky so far this year.
-
Nando, that doesn't sound like the flu. Sounds like you have something else. Might be worth seeing a doctor about it.

LOL, at first I had to double take this thread as I thought it was started by Soop. ;)
Nanders, get to teh Doctor! You have ass blasters!!

No flu for me, as I try to keep the BAC high enough to kill the germs.

LMAO!
yeah doc confirmed it wasn't the "flu" some sort of viral funk...just add another one to the list.
Pepto has been my friend.
I am happy to write that today was the first day I've been able to eat solid foods. I'm pretty excited about it.

Everyone in NY has the flu, the governor declared a state of emergency. I got my flu shot, but I even got some of this bastard.

Me, my wife, and my daughter (age 18 months) have been suffering from the same bullshit viral "bug" that you had. I caught it on the weekend. Started out like a regular cold. I had a pulsing headache all day, and chills. I just could not get warm. I went to bed with longjohns, and jeans. Socks, and slippers, and a t-shirt, with a flannel shirt overtop of that, and then the fleece liner out of my winter coat. Then I threw a duvet over myself and a heating pad under me. I shivered all night like I was badly dehydrated. That same night my wife woke up and started losing things from both ends. My daughter seemed fine, but when we fed her milk in the morning she instantly threw it up. She's been eating well, but only clear liquids are going into her right now.
It's Thursday, and I'm only just starting to feel normal again. I never ended up puking, but I did go through fire hydrant symptoms you spoke of. It's drained the hell out of the entire family. Oddly, my son has been immune. Every morning I wake up and go into his room expecting him to puke on me, but he seems to be coming out of this unscathed *knocks on wood*
It's this stupid virus shit that makes me wish I lived in Hawaii full time.

LOL, BURN.
I've been healthy so far but am traveling (through airports) right now for work, so I'm concerned about getting something.

I had that right after Xmas. Lost 7 lbs :-#
I was burning from both ends tho....

I had a similar viral bug a few years ago and I never want to go through that again.
Despite getting flu shots the past 3 years, I've still gotten the flu each year. This winter I got it during Christmas week which pretty much wasted half of my vacation.

So far, so good for my wife n' I, as well as my parents thankully. But my middle brother & his 2 kids had/have it. It almost seems to go away, & then come back! The kicker is, the spent crazy money on a trip to Disneyworld for a week....they are not enjoying themselves! Thankfully, his wife seems to be warding the flu off. I think my oldest brother & his wife are fine, but lot's of my friends in the area have had it. One friend has had a cough for over 3 weeks, though he's in his 60's, so maybe it partly has to do with age & a weaker immune system?

Sounds like norovirus, although it shouldn't really last that long.

STATUS: Thus far, everyone close to me has been able to evade this pesky pox. Fingers and curiously elongated toes crossed.

I spoke too soon (and of course, just in time for the weekend).......

The news here this morning called it a new form of noro, they even called it the "Ferrari" of Norovirus. lasts longer and spreads even easier, like "I can't believe it's not butter."
THE FERRARI? more like an instant gate to hell/purgatory <--(see what I did there?)
Damn Josh, feel better man.

Aaahhhahahahah!!! Oh my, I hope I get to re-use that :D

My friend got slammed this morning (left work early). Hopefully I'll be spared.

Damn close to 6 days of being sick, everyone at the house is finally back to being normal. That stuff was brutal. Hope the rest of you all and your families are doing well.
On a side note, this 70 degree weather in January is kinda nice...
-
Damn Josh, feel better man.
It was a 24 hour bug thing, today I feel great! :)

Nice! I had that. I was heaving on an empty tank (both ends) all night. Just when I thought I could get to sleep, it was a race to the 'throom. But when you finally get to sleep - bliss. and then you're all ready for a nice lazy day in bed.
