I have a few hucards that are dirty and would love to clean the art work. I've tried water and it doesn't do much. Is there any cleaner that would be safe to use without damaging the paint? Also, is it just me or do some hucards have lower quality paint than others. I have a few, such as Shubibinman 2 that you can easily scratch the paint off the art

I've used rubbing alcohol and cotton balls to clean mine. No I'll effects that I can see.
-
I clean them the same way I clean old carts. I just dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and rub that over the contacts. If the card is dirty elsewhere, it's small enough that I can just scrub the whole thing down with the q-tip.

Dish soap and a sponge works best.

(1) Submerge the HuCARD in a mild detergent+water solution
(2) Wait a few hours
(3) Rinse with tepid water (not too hot, not too cold)
(4) Pat HuCARD dry with absorbent paper towel
(5) Enjoy!

I just use dish soap with water. I use an old t-shirt to dry the card.

If a huey or also another cartridge does refuse its predestined work, I usually clean it with a tissue and some whisky (the nearest within my reach).
always works.

Don't use any of that Goo-Gone stuff as it will eat/melt the plastic.

Thanks for the responses guys. Whisky? LOL, what's your poison Tatsujin? I tend to stick to Blue/Black Label. I see that some have have answered about cleaning contacts, how about cleaning the art work on the card? Esteban's and FiftyQuid's answers seem "sound." I know rubbing alcohol will remove paint; I've tried and the paint was almost gone :(. About the paint scratching off, I had those Hucards in a 3rd party plastic sleeve. Perhaps the plastic (acid?) ate the glossy finish hence why it was so easy to scratch off the art work. Almost traumatizing really. Made me feel funny about Hucards overall.

DON'T FORGET TO DRESS UP YOUR HuCARD when you have finished bathing it:

I take what's on the table, even if it's a 17yo islay single malt. lol :)

Somebody recommended me rub a pencil eraser until the copper is bright and shine-y. Worked well for me.

Very true, that stuff is harsh. Here's a pic of one of my hucards that someone most likely used goo gone to try to clean it. There's a nice, clear thumb print melted on it.

 omg.

I use isopropyl alcohol, but I am kind of surprised to hear about total submersion. For some reason I would have never thought that would be fine, but I suppose it is sealed...

I usually use isopropyl alcohol on the contacts. I would think that something like Windex would work well to clean the plastic parts.

STATUS: Submersion = dangerous!
-
Hmm, I wonder of Windex would discolor the plastic eventually.
-
Lol, make a test. But why using possibly aggressive stuff, when there is known unaggressive available, which does the same job?

A small amount of hydrochloric acid will quickly remove any minor blemish on a HuCARD, console, controller, etc.
