Title: Japanese game magazine recommendations
Post by: Nando on February 12, 2013, 02:30:14 AM
So I'm only familiar with the forever popular Famitsu, what are some other JP game magazines worth checking out?

Hell doesn't even have to be JP for that matter.   :-k

Neo Geo Freak, Gamest, PC Engine Fan, Dengeki Saturn, Saturn Fan, Saturn Tech...all gone

There were also a few more hard core hacker oriented mags back in the day that may or may not still be in publication, the names of which escape me at the moment, but they are probably all gone now too.

Take a look at the 'Magazines and Newsletters etc' section in my links thread.

There are even a few issues of PC Engine Fan that I have scanned from my collection :-)

Buy the shooting, and now also new, the action gameside books.

They're basically uberawsome retrospective game mags in book form.

Best from japan since long.

Some of the Dengeki Mags are still okay.  I'll grab Dengeki G's occasionally on a whim and they're fun to flip through.  Depends on if you like anime somewhat though.

A lot of the recent magazines come with trinkets too, I'm guessing it's one of the ways they keep people buying them.
