So Tatsujin, you don't favor either the SNES or Genesis then?  Aren't you a known fan of the Super Famicom?

I think from todays point of view, the MD is the funnier system to play with, but the SFC also has its little fair amount of great game pieces. So it's quite a difficult question to answer.

I was a snes fan but lean more towards genesis these days. Most I would pay for terraforming would be $30 :D

I cant vote...  I was never a fan of either of those two systems.

The most I paid for an SNES game was 100 and that was cause I wanted to replay Earthbound, I will never pay more then that for a game.

Psychobear's vote is null because he doesn't know that Terraforming is a TurboGrafx game.

I wouldn't pay more than $15 for Terraforming.  That's the most I've paid for any SNES or Genesis game aside from the few I bought new back when the system was current.  I prefer the SNES over the Genesis, though both have excellent games.

If I HAD to pick between these 2 systems, the Genny wins handily...plus Terraforming isn't worth NEAR $200 for me, so the choice was simple.

Even after getting a snes as of last year i still favor the genesis a little more.Still, what was this poll about some kind of port ?

I like SNES and Genesis. While I'm a huge fan of Sega, the Genesis is maybe their worst system. Meanwhile the SNES was Nintendo's best system, so really I vastly prefer the SNES.

Regardless, I would pay $200 for Sid Mead's Kronolog, but I wouldn't pay $2 for Sid Mead's Terraforming.

...it's really not good. :(

If that's the case, I change my answer. I viewed the two questions as mutually exclusive.

Galam is correct.  It's not about a port.  It's about whether you prefer SNES or Genesis, and whether you would purchase Terraforming for $200 to complete your TurboGrafx collection.

I love both SNES and Genesis, but the Genesis is more important to me for a number of reasons.

I have been paying $200+ for games ever since the launch of Phantasy Star II, but I'll only pay that much for Terraforming once it's one of the last games I don't own and even then, I won't be in a rush. Of course, by the time I get around to buying the Turbo version, $200 probably won't be much for a video game. If I never end up owning it, it won't be a big deal, but I still think that it's a much more worthwhile purchase than many of the things the average person considers normal, like jewelery, "designer" colognes/perfumes, booze/cigarettes/drugs, more than just a functional car, eating at expensive restaurants, movie theatre tickets + snacks, etc.

I much prefer the genny over snes just because I had better times with it years ago. As for terra, I just put a $300 bid on that recent auction.  So, there ya go.

Basically the question is: if you are the sort of tool that would pay $200 for Teraforming, are you most likely a Genesis fan or a SNES fan?

I'm going to say Genesis comes out on top. Those guys are a lot less rational.

Good point.  You are kind of like a Wiki.  You try and speak with conviction, but generally full of shit.

I'm a Genesis fan who wouldn't pay $200 for any game on any system, unless it was to flip it.

Thanks for the posts, everyone.  The results are:

SNES fan -- I would pay $200 for Terraforming if I needed it for my collection - 2 (8.3%)
SNES fan -- I would never pay $200 for Terraforming - 9 (37.5%)
Genesis fan -- I would pay $200 for Terraforming if I needed it for my collection - 2 (8.3%)
Genesis fan -- I would never pay $200 for Terraforming - 11 (45.8%)

Conclusions:
1) PC Engine fans are usually also Genesis fans, because they have taste.
2) SNES fans are far more likely to spend $200 on Terraforming.
3) Since only 2 SNES fans admitted that they would spend $200 on Terraforming, most SNES fans are liars.

Wow, that really is science.

I love how a person can be a PCE fan and a SNES fan, or a PCE fan and a Genesis fan, but under no circumstances can someone be a fan if both SNES and Genesis. The politics are just too polarizing, even 20 years later.

Oh when will the wounds finally be healed...? :(
