Sweet! Hopefully mine'll get here soon - I'm anxious to see which free bonus mag I get.
* fingers crossed for Bonk *

I asked when I ordered a couple of weeks ago from GDG, they were expected to send them out around next week for the US orders then.

Anyone have the order link handy?

Has anyone in the US recieved a shipping email?
-
Fury Unlimited sent an email saying there are only 7 copies left on his site. I almost picked up a spare for good trade bait later down the road, but I have been buying too much lately.
-
From an email I got from Good Deal Games today:
Bernie,
We started mailing them out two days ago and yesterday, as there were too many for us to process in just one day.
You should have it soon :-)
Michael

There were a few links posted in the other thread but I couldn't find an order/pre-order page. Can someone share it here please? Thanks!
-
Oh shit, that's awesome! That means I could have two new Turbo games in under a week!

Good Deal Games (http://www.gooddealgames.com/placeorder.html) <-- It's like buying something online circa 1996: you tell 'em what you want and where you're at, and they get back to you with total price and payment options.
Fury Unlimited (http://www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m3_1.htm) (click appropriate Buy Now button)

Ordered. Thank you.

I got mine in the mail today from Good Deal Games. The ordering process may be a little old fashioned, but service was great so I highly recommend the site.
-
Cool, so us Yankee's are recieving the game!

Yeah, mine came extra quick because GDG is located in a suburb of my city, lol.
-
My copy came in today from Good Deal Games.
Unfortunately, my Duo's CD drive is temporarily on the fritz, so I won't be able to try this game out yet. :(
-
Mine came today too. It plays pretty solidly, and is most similar to the Gameboy version of the game in terms of gameplay, minus the scrolling, since we're not on a GB, and don't need to scroll.
The chip sound effects are good, too! I did find the percussion in the music a bit distracting at times (I would start tapping and thumping along to it, and wouldn't concentrate on the game as much), but the music is very nice stuff.
The Atari 2600 graphics mode is a nice touch, also.
My main gripe is that the Gameboy mode isn't spinach green like a real gameboy. This is more like the Gameboy Pocket palette (gray).
Overall, it's definitely worth checking out. If you've NEVER played Lock n' Chase before, this version is quite honestly your best bet to experience the game for the first time. It looks and sounds better than the Coleco, Intellivision, or Atari 2600 versions, and has passwords and features and stuff.
Plus, you don't have to deal with:
1) A painful Atari 2600 joystick
2) An idiotic Intellivision controller
3) An idiotic Colecovision controller
:)
oh, and there's multiplayer. For those of you who have friends. I will probably never experience the multiplayer. :D
-
I got mine too! The bonus mag included was the Bonk one, which has a nice Bazzy review to read.
-
Hopefully mine comes today, as I'm going to be leaving for the weekend and would like to get it before I head out.
Glad to hear it's a good version of Lock n' Chase. Back in the 2600 days, that was always my favorite game. I remember my friends being all about Pac-Man (the arcade game, at least), and I was always like, "f*ck Pac-Man! Lock n' Chase is better!" Recently downloaded the GameBoy version on my 3DS as well, and that version is fantastic. Looking forward to playing this with my son.

This one is fairly similar to the gameboy one, sans the frantic chiptune music. You'll dig it.
I liked LnC on my Intellivision. It was pretty good there.
-
That is so cool that the 2600 visuals are optional. Too bad the Intellivision graphics aren't, as that's the version I grew up with. It's nice to get two new Pac Man style games for PCE at once. Can't wait to play them. :)
-
Arkhan, we can flip a coin to see who has to drive where for some multiplayer action.
-
Mine came in the mail today as well. I'm surprised to see the game sealed. Mine has a crack in the "spine" of the white case insert. Not a big deal. Read through the magazine during break at work. The magnet that came with it is a cool little added trinket.

Probably that small orange framed piece of cover art in people's photos. I thought that it was a sticker, a magnet is very cool. 8)
-
Well, I haven't tried to stick it to anything metal, but it's got a black backing that looks like a magnet which is why I thought it was. Anyone confirm?
-
I didn't get one of those in my package. :(
errrrr
-
Maybe it depends on whether you ordered from Good Deal Games or Fury Unlimited? I don't really care about a bonus magazine issue, but I hope I still get a magnet (I ordered through Fury Unlimited).
-
Mines from Good Deal, so, we'll see soon enough if only one or the other is sending out magnets.
-
I ordered through GDG. I didn't preorder the first week so no bonus issue for me. If #45 is any indication of what to expect, I'm not missing much.
-
STATUS: I did not get a magnet.
UPDATE: Also, I did not (yet) get Revival Chase.
-

Never got a confirmation email but mine arrived today with magnet!

It is indeed a magnet. I've got mine on the head of my bed along with my Turbo Grafx-16 magnet.
-
Just got mine as well, to confirm, GDC, no magnet. :(
-
What is that big revival thing next to the game too. I didn't get that either.
Is that the french version of the magazine?
edit: Oh wait, I am a retard.
You just turn the thing over and it has that cover.
YEAH. PHYSICS.
-
Got mine. And a magnet. Mine was stuck inside the spine in the mag. I missed it for a good couple of hours till i flipped carefully through the pages.
-
Well, now there's just a matter of finding all the secret stuff in Revival Chase, I believe Touko has a demo or 2 hidden in it.

LOL,yes but you have to find the right passwords 8)
-
I had fun reading about the making of Revival Chase. 2.5 months is f*cking insane.
-
Got mine! Just got back home, though, and too tired to play it. First thing tomorrow!
-
One thing I noticed that was interesting in the magazine that no one's pointed out yet, is on page 28, the top left corner talks about NCI(Neo Corporation International) has some Neo Geo CD releases, but also "NCI hope to conclude titles on other meia like the Playstation 2 or the NEC PCEgine."
Now, I wonder if that means they're after titles that never came out in Japan, like Dino Force & PC Cocoron, or that they are after translated games that never came out, like Macross 2036 or Astralius(assuming these got translated at all) for release. Or maybe they're after any & every title, maybe we'll get my beloved Riftwar Saga....if they can locate the original group that made it in the first place!

OUR BELOVED RIFTWAR SAGA.

Not only is RC a decent game, but I'm really digging the magazine itself. Revival brings me back to why I love video games - it's nothing but pure excitement and enthusiasm for creative new games. No modern Hollywood shovelware. No Call-of-Duty military recruitment PR masquerading as a new FPS. No collectors drooling over rarity. No pontificating "retrogaming" historians playing the sage. Just a great magazine.
-
Finally had a chance to play it last night. Love it! Sure, it's a Lock n' Chase clone, but it's a damn good one! I love the different modes, and the game plays really well. Haven't had the chance to try multiplayer yet, though.

THIS POST ALONE makes me want the game BAD!!!!! Damn it, I had just convinced myself that I can wait. DAMN YOU.

DUDE, report on the multiplayer when you get a chance. I am very curious about it (my oldest daughter, 9, is totally into old games and especially likes multi-player...so pretend you are a nine-year-old girl when you play the game! (http://junk.tg-16.com/images/pcgb.gif) )

I might just try multiplayer by myself.
I've got two hands and two feet.

Sounds good to me. Just be careful you wash your feet when you are done.
You never know what kind of germs/bacteria your feet might be exposed to when using a TurboPad.

I'll try to play multi with my son today.

Glad to see that some of you really like Revival Chase and all its game modes. I think that you will appreciate the hidden shooting games too ;)
And glad to see that you not only consider the game but also the ReVival magazine. Yes, it is made by passion, and just for the pleasure of playing such cool homebrew and retro videogames!

After getting home from the hospital this week I had a lot of free time on my hands to play some Turbo and PCE so of course I played a lot of Revival Chase. So far I'm really impressed and I love all the different features like the multi-player and the ability to play the game with a classic Atari 2600 skin. I even did a quick review on my website below. Does anyone know the codes to unlock the shooting games though?
